India will not play D/N Test in Australia: BCCI writes to CA
The BCCI has officially informed Cricket Australia that India will not play any Day/Night Test match on their tour Down Under at the end of this year. While Cricket Australia were insistent on having a pink ball Test, which has been a convention for all touring teams for the past few years but the Indian board has made it clear that they will not deviate from the traditonal red-ball matches. With Indian team management, headed by chief coach Ravi Shastri, intimating the Committee of Administrators (CoA) that the team will take at least 18 months to prepare for the Day/Night Test, acting secretary Choudhary was told to pass on the message to CA chief executive James Sutherland. Australia's Jason Day birdied two of the last three holes Sunday to capture the Wells Fargo Championship, collecting his 12th career US PGA title and second of the year. Day, the 2015 PGA Championship winner, held off Americans Aaron Wise and Nick Watney with a final-round two-under par 69 to finish 72 holes on 12-under 272 for a two-stroke victory at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina. Young Indian golfer Aditi Ashok notched up her second successive top-10 finish by finishing Tied-sixth at the Volunteers of America LPGA Texas Classic, here. The tournament, cut short to 36 holes because of rain and weather, had Aditi setting the clubhouse target as she played her second and final round in 5-under 66 to finish at 7-under 135. The event was shortened to 36 holes due to severe weather on Thursday and Friday. This was Aditi's second top-10 in a row after her Tied-seventh at LPGA Mediheal last week. Before that her two best finishes this season were T-14 at Kia Classic and T-19 at Hugel-JTBC La Open.
