Chief ministers of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha on Wednesday evening condoled the demise of Tata Group's chairman emeritus and veteran industrialist Ratan Tata, and said his legacy will live on forever. The 86-year-old Padma Vibhushan breathed his last at south Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital at 11.30 pm, a top police officer told PTI. He was admitted to the hospital for the past few days. He was one of the world's most influential industrialists yet he never appeared on any list of billionaires. He controlled over 30 companies that operated in over 100 countries across six continents yet lived an unpretentious life. Ratan Tata's mortal remains taken to NCPA for people to pay tributes

Legendary industrialist Ratan Tata's body was on Thursday morning taken from his house in a hearse, decked with white flowers, to the NCPA in south Mumbai where it would be kept for people to pay their last respects. Before the hearse started from Tata's home, located a couple of kilometres away from the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), the Mumbai Police band played a tune as a mark of respect to him. Tata Electronics, PSMC sign pact for Rs 91,000 cr chip manufacturing unit

Tata Electronics on Thursday said it has concluded an agreement with Taiwan-based Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation, which will provide technology support for the Dholera wafer fab of the Indian tech major. As per the agreement, PSMC will provide design and construction support to build India's first AI-enabled greenfield fab in Gujarat, license a broad portfolio of technologies and provide engineering support to the fab unit. "We are pleased to partner with PSMC, whose technology and expertise will significantly accelerate our roadmap to pioneer semiconductor manufacturing in India. CCI clears proposed merger of Tata Motors Finance into Tata Capital

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Tuesday cleared the proposed merger of Tata Motors Finance Ltd into Tata Capital Ltd. Tata Capital Ltd (TCL) is a subsidiary of Tata Sons and is operating as a non-banking financial company Investment and Credit Company (NBFC-ICC). TCL is engaged primarily in the business of lending, leasing, factoring, financing and distributing financial products. "CCI approves the proposed merger of Tata Motors Finance Ltd with and into Tata Capital Ltd," the regulator said in a post on X. Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms have awarded contracts worth Rs 11,481 crore to local contractors and suppliers, an official said. Tata Group to give jobs to 4,000 women from U'khand at TN, Karnataka plants

Tata Group will give jobs to 4,000 women from Uttarakhand at its plants in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Its Chief Human Resource Officer Ranjan Bandopadhyay has written a letter to this effect to the state planning department, an official release said here on Monday. The recruitment process will begin soon, it said. Tata Electronics Pvt Ltd will appoint 4,000 women candidates from Uttarakhand at its plants in Hosur in Tamil Nadu and Kolar in Karnataka under the NPS and NATS programmes, the release said. Those who have cleared class 10 or 12 examinations are eligible for NPS programmes, while for NATS an ITI diploma is necessary in addition to these, it said. After selection, they will be appointed as shop floor technicians. Apart from a fixed salary, they will also get accommodation, food, transportation and other facilities, it said.
