Scientists have put together a deep-sky mosaic, providing a portrait of the distant universe containing 265,000 galaxies that stretch back through 13.3 billion years of time, using data from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. The image is the largest and most comprehensive "history book" of galaxies dating back to just 500 million years after the Big Bang, researchers said. Created from nearly 7,500 individual exposures, the image stiches together 16 years' worth of observations from the Hubble Space Telescope. The portrait shows how galaxies change over time, building themselves up to become the giant galaxies seen in the nearby universe. The ambitious endeavour, called the Hubble Legacy Field, also combines observations taken by several Hubble deep-field surveys, including the eXtreme Deep Field (XDF), the deepest view of the universe. The wavelength range stretches from ultraviolet to near-infrared light, capturing the key features of galaxy assembly over time. "Now that we have gone ..

/ -- Disruptive business model powered by great tech does the trick After the beta launch of the first-of-its-kind fully automated AI based talent commerce platform 'SCIKEY,' it has been a great month as far as customer responses are concerned. "We met more than fifty customers over the last 30 days in India and Malaysia and showcased our product and got excellent response from every customer without any exception. The experience has been amazing. While we realized that we are filling a significant gap in the industry by automating a large part of hiring, the true benefit SCIKEY can achieve got realised after engaging with the customers. Right from the true cost of hiring, delays in onboarding, manual nature, and clutter of the overall process and unpredictable joining certainty of candidates add much stress in corporate recruitment teams that resonates directly on the company's performance. SCIKEY seems to be an apt and a much desired solution as per our customers," says Karunjit ...

Scientists have created a flexible, snakelike robot that can perform artificial insemination and embryo transfer on rhinos, an advance that may potentially rescue the northern white rhinos from the brink of extinction. Decades of poaching and habitat loss have led to the dramatic decline of the northern white rhino -- with just two northern white rhinos remaining in the world, both of whom are female. Hope for their survival now rests on the ability to develop innovative methods for repopulating the species, according to researchers from the University of California San Diego and San Diego Zoo Global in the US. The device is a long, thin catheter that can be steered through a rhino's cervix to deliver a specimen to the uterus, said Michael Yip, a professor at UC San Diego. Navigating a female rhino's reproductive anatomy is incredibly complicated. "The rhino cervix is very large and tortuous," said Barbara Durrant, from the San Diego Zoo Global. It has a series of twists and turns ...
Scientists have used computationally controlled knitting machines to create robotic plush toys and other knitted objects, an approach that may be used to cost-effectively make soft robots and wearable technologies. The researchers created lampshades that change shape, stuffed figures that give hugs when poked in the stomach and even a sweater with a sleeve that moves on its own. The software developed at Carnegie Mellon University in the US makes it possible for the objects to emerge from the knitting machines in their desired shapes and with tendons already embedded. They can then be stuffed and the tendons attached to motors, as necessary. "The idea is to build robots from materials that are inherently safe for people to be near, so it would be very hard to hurt someone. Actuated soft components would be cheap to produce on commercial knitting machines," said Lea Albaugh, a PhD student who led the research effort. "We have so many soft objects in our lives and many of them could be .
