SSC question paper leak: Plea seeking custody of Telangana BJP chief filed

Police on Thursday filed a petition at a court in Warangal district seeking custody of Telangana BJP President and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar and other arrested persons in connection with the case of malpractice after two question papers of X standard (SSC) board exam surfaced on groups of an instant messaging app. A petition opposing the bail plea of Sanjay Kumar was also filed by police in the court, which will come up for hearing today. Police have sought three days custody of Sanjay Kumar and three other accused, who are in judicial remand and lodged in a jail in Karimnagar, for further investigation in the case. The custodial interrogation of the accused persons is needed to elicit more information in connection with the case and also as data in the phones has been deleted, police said. Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay detained, development triggers protests

Telangana BJP President and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar was detained by the police, triggering protests in the state, police said on Wednesday. Sanjay Kumar, a Lok Sabha MP from Karimnagar constituency, was picked up by a team of police late on Tuesday night from his residence. The MP's supporters tried to prevent the police from arresting Kumar. PM to lay foundation for projects worth Rs 11,355 cr in T'gana on April 8

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Hyderabad on April 8 to dedicate to the nation and lay foundation stone for several development projects worth Rs 11,355 crore in Telangana besides flagging off a Vande Bharat Express train between Secunderabad and Tirupati. At Secunderabad Railway station, the Prime Minister will flag off the train service between Secunderabad in Telangana and Tirupati in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. This is the 13th Vande Bharat train to be introduced in the country, a release from Union Tourism and Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy's office said on Sunday. New health programme 'Arogya Mahila' launched for women in Telangana

Telangana Health Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday launched a new health programme for women, named 'Arogya Mahila', on the occasion of International Women's Day. Under the programme, tests would be conducted for women every Tuesday initially in 100 health centres and medicines provided to them free of cost. The women, if necessary, would be sent to 'referral hospitals' for further medical care. Harish Rao, who launched the programme in Karimnagar, said another scheme 'Nutrition kit' would be started for the benefit of pregnant women after the Sri Rama Navami festival to be celebrated later this month. The 'Nutrition kit' would comprise several items, including ghee and protein mix powder, according to an official release. Meanwhile, State Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao and other Ministers, who attended the women's day celebrations at Thorrur in Mahabubabad district, launched distribution of Rs 750 crore of interest-free loans to women Self-Help Groups.
