Subhramanyam, Chief Secretary, Dilbagh Singh, Director General of Police (DGP), A.K. Bhatt, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of XV Corps among others.The Governor, while obtaining sector-wise assessments of the prevailing security situations in the valley, emphasised on the importance of maintaining a close and sustained watch on the ground situation. He also appreciated the coordination and synergy between the security forces and the civil administration.Malik also stressed the need for a heightened vigil and ensuring the safety and security .
Two persons were held here with unaccounted cash of Rs 3.5 crore, police said on Saturday. Acting on a tip-off, a team of local police and the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) seized the cash from the duo in Sirohi district of Rajasthan while they were en route to Gujarat from Haryana. The cash was recovered upon searching the vehicle of the duo, Superintendent of Police (SP) Sirohi Jai Yadav said. The Income Tax department has been informed about the matter and the cash has been seized, he said, adding, that both the men were being questioned.
A delegation from Myanmar has visited Nepal to learn about the peace process in the Himalayan nation following the end of its decade-long armed conflict in 2006 which claimed over 16,000 lives. In a meeting involving senior Civil, Police, Central Armed Police, Army, and State and Central Intelligence Agencies, Malik undertook a detailed review of security management related issues at the Raj Bhavan, he said. One child was killed while another was reported to be injured on Friday during a clash between Taliban and Islamic State (Daesh) militants in eastern Kunar region of Afghanistan.Several Taliban and Daesh militants were also killed in the clash, Khaama Press News Agency said while quoting a military statement.Khamma News Agency quoted 201st Silab Corps statement that said a clash broke out between Daesh and Taliban in Watapur district on Friday."According to a statement released by 201st Silab Corps, , said at least four Taliban militants were killed during the clash and three others sustained injuries. At least 57 armed terrorists were killed in airstrike operations conducted by the Afghan security forces in last 24 hours across different parts of the country, Afghanistan's Defence Ministry said on Saturday.The ministry stated that operations were conducted in Kunar, Helmand, Baghlan, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Herat, Ghazni, Badakhshan, Urozgan, Nimroz, Paktia, Faryab, Khost, Sar-e-Pul and Logar provinces. Six police officers were killed in an ambush with an improvised explosive device in the northern Burkina Faso town of Solle near the border with Mali, security sources told AFP Saturday. "A police convoy was ambushed in Solle" late Friday, a security source said. "The leading vehicle ran over a mine and six were killed." The convoy then came under gunfire and some more police were injured, the source said. Another security source said that "at least" six police had died, adding that a search for the attackers was under way in the area. The attack came a day after six soldiers were killed in the east of the country in similar circumstances. Burkina Faso has seen regular jihadist attacks since the start of 2015, especially the north and east of the country. According to an official count published last month, such attacks have killed 118 people so far, 70 of whom were civilians.

The body of a man, who was abducted by militants from Sopore town, was found with his throat slit in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district Saturday, police said. Tawseef Ahmad Ganie (30), a resident of Tujjar area of Sopore, was abducted from his shop Wednesday, a police official said. The body, was found in an orchard in the Check Harwan area of the north Kashmir district Saturday morning, the official said. Preliminary investigations reveal that proscribed militant organisation Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) was behind the abduction and killing, he said. The official said police have registered a case and the matter is being investigated.

An Afghan official says at least two security forces have been killed in bomb blasts in the capital. Basir Mujahid, spokesman for the Kabul police chief, says nine others including six police officers and three civilians were wounded in Saturday's attack. Mujahid says a roadside bomb hit a military vehicle when police arrived to respond to an insurgent attack, then a second blast took place in the same area causing casualties. The police chief was among the wounded, he said. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but both the Taliban and Islamic State group are active in Kabul and have claimed responsibility for previous attacks against Afghan security forces.
Malaysian police say eight suspected militants, including seven foreigners, have been arrested for allegedly spreading religious extremism that could threaten national security and fan terrorism in the region.
