Investments in UP will create 10 million jobs for youth, says CM Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said one crore youths of the state will get employment in the next three years through investment proposals received at the recently held Global Investors Summit. He was speaking after laying the foundation stone of a rural mini-stadium at Bholaram Maskara Inter College in Sahjanwa here, which will be built at a cost of Rs 10.43 crore. The stadium will have a multi-sports complex, athletics track and an audience gallery. Adityanath said investments to be made in the Sahjanwa assembly constituency and other places will also enable the youths to get jobs near their native places. "The government will also distribute two crore tablets and smartphones to students across the state in degree colleges, he said. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday took a jibe at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over his remarks on how India was faring better than Pakistan, saying comparison should always be done with someone better. In a tweet in Hindi, Yadav said, "Reference: UP chief minister is talking about being better than Pakistan. The golden rule of comparison: Comparison should always be done with someone who is better than you." On Friday, Adityanath said while India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership was providing free ration to over 80 crore people, the people in the neighbouring country were struggling to get two meals a day. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday assured people that marriage of women coming from poor families would not be delayed, nor treatment of any patient hampered for lack of money. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said Azamgarh earlier faced a "crisis of identity" and youths from the district were denied even a place to live in other cities but its glory is now being brought back under the BJP rule. Assassination threat to PM, UP CM Yogi; schoolboy held from Lucknow

The Noida Police on Friday apprehended a teenager from Lucknow who is believed to have sent an email to a media house, threatening to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, officials said. The 16-year-old boy, who hails from Bihar, was picked up from the Chinhat area of the state capital on Friday morning and has been brought here, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Noida) Rajneesh Verma said. An FIR was lodged in connection with the case of April 5 at Sector 20 police station here after which the matter was investigated, technical teams also roped in to trace the sender of the email, which contained the threat message, Verma said. On the basis of the investigation, the email sender was traced and found in Lucknow's Chinhat area. The sender turned out to be a schoolboy, who has just completed his Class 11 and will be beginning Class 12 in this session, the police officer told PTI. Noida media house gets email threatening to 'assassinate' PM Modi

A private television news group has informed the Noida Police that it has received an email from an unknown sender who threatened to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a senior officer said on Wednesday. Police said they have lodged an FIR and launched an investigation into the matter after a representative of the TV channel, located in Sector 16A Film City, approached them Tuesday evening. "This is to bring to your kind attention about the email received by our CFO on April 3 at around 10:23 pm from one Mr. Kartik Singh with an email id "mailto:singhkartik78107@gmail.com"singhkartik78107@gmail.com. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday directed officials to replace 50 per cent of firewood used in crematoriums with cow dung cakes and utilise the income generated through this for the management of cow shelters. The chief minister was addressing a meeting to review the management of stray cattle shelters and the current status of milk production in the state, according to an official statement. Fifty per cent of the total firewood used in crematoriums should be replaced with cow dung cakes, Adityanath told the officials. The cow dung cakes will be made available from shelters for stray cows and the income generated will be used for their management, he said. The chief minister further said the state government has made necessary arrangements for the protection of stray cattle and their fodder. Voter list for UP local body polls updated, over 9.6 mn electors added

The Uttar Pradesh State Election Commission has updated the voter list for the forthcoming urban local body polls, adding more than 96 lakh electors. In a statement issued here on Sunday, State Election Commissioner Manoj Kumar said 4,32,31,827 people are eligible to vote in the polls. The strength of the electorate was 3,35,95,547 during the last polls in 2017. There has been an increase of 96,36,280 voters. He said the increase in the number of voters has been primarily due to expansion of the boundary of municipal corporations and nagar palika parishads. Owing to formation of new nagar panchayats, many rural areas have also been included in urban limits. Kumar said 21,23,268 voters have been shifted from rural to urban jurisdictions. He said there will be more than 4.33 lakh first-time voters this time. These voters have turned 18 by January 1, 2023. The urban local body polls are expected to be held soon, but the notification is yet to be issued.

UP CM directs official to compensate farmers for recent crop damage

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Saturday directed officials to provide relief grants to the affected farmers by immediately surveying crop damage caused by hailstorms and rain in the last 24 hours, an official release said. He has also expressed condolence over the loss of lives in the state due to various calamities and instructed the district magistrates to immediately distribute the permissible relief amount from the state disaster response fund (SDRF) to the families of the deceased. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said the number of students enrolled in state-run schools has risen from 1.34 crore in 2017 to 1.92 crore in 2023, proving that his government's 'School Chalo' campaign is a success.
