BJP's Bhola Singh sparks controversy on Eid, says 'should not be done if causes inconvenience'

Bulandshahr (UP), Jun 05 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr Bhola Singh said that if there is inconvenience due to someone's festival of any religion, it should not be done, in pretext of celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr. Bhola Singh said, "While celebrating festivals it should be seen that it doesn't cause inconvenience to the others. Hindus celebrate Holi, Diwali, Raksha Bandhan and the entire country celebrates that but no experiences inconvenience due to our festivals. If there is inconvenience due to someone's festival of any religion, it should not be done. A place has been designated for expressing your devotion, roads should not be blocked. If it happens it is wrong, action should be taken."

One injured after PSI opens fire on public in Gujarats Vadodara

Quality of sleep associated with better health in teens not quantity

New Delhi, June 05 (ANI): Researchers at the University of British Columbia have claimed that quality of sleep, and not quantity, is related to better health in teens. The study published in the journal Preventive Medicine, looked at 3,104 students in British Columbia aged 13 to 17 over a period of two years. "Chronic, low-quality sleep was associated with poorer health outcomes among young British Columbia students," said study author Annalijn Conklin. "Kids who regularly had trouble falling or staying asleep were almost two and half times as likely to report sub-optimal or less than excellent health, compared to those who did not," Conklin added. "Even if these teens had difficulty falling asleep just one night a week, if that was a regular occurrence over two years, it really seemed to affect their overall health," explained Conklin. "What was particularly interesting was that the relationship between chronic, poor-quality sleep and health outcome was stronger in the boys than it wa

64ft-tall monolithic statue of Lord Vishnu reaches Bengaluru temple

Bengaluru, June 05 (ANI): A massive monolithic statue of Vishwaroopa Mahavishnu, weighing 300-tonnes, was brought to a temple. The statue, which is 64-feet-tall, will be installed in the premises of Kothandaramaswamy Temple in Viveknagar area of Bengaluru. Upon the arrival of the statue on a large truck, people in large number gathered at the spot to get a glimpse of the structure and to offer their prayers to the almighty.

Chennai environmentalist launches 'Tree Ambulance' with an aim to implement across country by 2020

Amazon lets you try on virtual make-up using Smartphone camera

New Delhi, June 05 (ANI): Buying make-up products such as lipsticks online is one of the main things shoppers still dread because it is difficult to know if a particular shade will look good. To help make it easier, Amazon is introducing a new AI feature called Live Mode on the Android app that uses the front-facing camera on a user's smartphone to virtually let them try on different shades of lipstick, Engadget reports. The Live Mode feature is available to users only in the US and Japan. It will be extended to the iOS platform later this year.

Rare snake rescued in Odisha's Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj (Odisha), June 05 (ANI): A bronzeback tree snake was rescued from a house in Uthaninuagaon village in Mayurbhanj district in Odisha. The snake had blue marks on its skin. These snakes are not found in human habitat. Later, the rare reptile has been released in the forest area by the officials.

Panic buttons to be installed in Agra for people's safety

Agra (UP), June 05 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh's Agra is a major tourist attraction place and is visited by tourists in large number. Keeping this in mind, panic buttons will be set up across the city for people's safety. 63 streets have been identified for installation of panic buttons that will give alert signals to police, when it is pressed. Panic buttons may also be used for an emergency ambulance service. 4 arrested for circulating fake currency notes in Assam

West Karbi Anglong (Assam), June 05 (ANI): Four people have been arrested for allegedly circulating fake currency notes having face value of Rs 2.23 lakh in Assam's West Karbi Anglong on Tuesday. Woman allegedly gang-raped Rajasthan's Pali, 4 accused arrested

Rajasthan, Jun 04 (ANI): A 30-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by five men in Rajasthan's Pali district and the video of the crime uploaded on social media. The incident took place on 26 May. The complaint was registered by the women yesterday. Four accused were arrested till now and police is searching for the fifth accused. While speaking to ANI, a police official said, "She registered a compliant y'day. Accused identified as Jitendra, Govind, Dinesh, Mahendra and Sanjay. We'll arrest the absconding accused soon."

Rajasthan's Churu records 50 degrees Celsius as heatwave grips India

Assam: Two Army jawans die as vehicle overturns

Assam, June 04 (ANI): Two Army jawans lost their life after the Army vehicle carrying them overturned in Nakarahola area of Assam's Sonitpur district on Tuesday.
