New Delhi, May 22 (ANI): Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan on Wednesday held a press conference in the national capital. During the press conference, he hailed his son Chirag Paswan, by saying that he has all the qualities that leaders of his age lack of. On May 20, the Union Consumer Affairs Minister said that his party cadres will decide, if his son Chirag Paswan should be given ministerial post in PM Narendra Modi's cabinet, if NDA returns to power.

New Delhi, May 22 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, Congress leader Udit Raj on his tweet 'why doesn't Supreme Court want VVPAT slips be counted, is it involved in the rigging?' he said, "When 22 parties went to Supreme Court asking for increase in number of VVPAT slips being counted, Supreme Court rejected it saying it will cause a delay. Election process continues for 3 months, hampering the development work, so what is the big deal if it takes 1-2 more days? I am not leveling allegations on Supreme Court, I am only raising my concerns."

Abducted kid rescued, accused shoots himself on being caught in UP's Bhadohi

Prayagraj (UP), May 22 (ANI): A child was abducted by his father's driver from his school's gymnastic hall in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on Tuesday. The kid was rescued by the police in Bhadohi on Tuesday night. The accused shot himself in panic on seeing the police and succumbed to injuries. Earlier, he demanded a ransom of Rs 3 crore.

PM Modi, President Xi share good chemistry, says outgoing Chinese Envoy

New Delhi, May 22 (ANI): Chinese Ambassador to India, Luo Zhaohui stated that China's President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi share good chemistry and that he was very touched by their informal meeting in Wuhan last year. "PM Modi and Chinese President met seventeen times in the last five years. PM Modi paid official trips to China and the Chinese President paid visits to India. PM Modi went to Chinese President's hometown Xi'an in last April. Despite their busy schedules, the two leaders spent their time together and it really touched me," Luo told ANI in an exclusive interview.

Pillai said, "Kerala BJP has decided to sue and prosecute Finance Minister Thomas Isaac of CPM for a defamatory statement he made on May 06. I have claimed Rs 10 crore as compensation besides seeking criminal prosecution against Isaac." Watch: Dalit body president attacked during presser in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 22 (ANI): National SC Reservation Parirakshana Samithi president, Karne Srisailam was attacked during a press conference at Press Club in Hyderabad. He was speaking on irregularities in Gurukul Pathshala (residential schools for SC/ST in Telangana). Karne Srisailam filed police complaint against Osmania University's scholar P Alexander and his associates for the attack. Case has been registered from both the sides as Alexander alleged that he was also attacked by Srisailam's followers. Further investigation is underway.

CID busts illegal call centre, 37 people arrested in Guwahati

Guwahati (Assam), May 22 (ANI): A team of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested 37 persons, including 9 women, for making fraud calls from an illegal call centre at Zoo Road in Assam's Guwahati. The call centre by the name of 'Avenir Pvt Ltd' was being run by Rajesh Khan, who has also been arrested. Additional Director General of Police (Admn), LR Bishnoi said, "CID has seized 22 monitors, 40 CPUs, 2 pen drives, 1 laptop and 32 mobile phones. Additionally, documents of the company and a diary containing the script they used were also recovered." A case has been registered under section 120B, 419, 420, 468, 471 and 384 of the Indian Penal Code, read with section 66 of the Information Technology Act.
