Lucknow's traffic police to get cotton caps during summers

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), May 15 (ANI): The traffic police of Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow to get new cotton caps in place of old woollen caps to beat the heat during summer season. Lucknow traffic police got the inspiration from Karnataka traffic police who wear hats during summer. While speaking to ANI, Superintendent of Police (SP)-Traffic in Lucknow, Purnendu Singh said, "It is getting difficult for jawans to work due to the rising temperature. Karnataka police uses hats that help avoid sun and also it has ventilation. We have ordered 50 caps from Bengaluru for trial, detailed report will be made and a committee will decide if it will be included in uniform."

Bizarre! Doctors remove 116 iron nails, iron pellet from man's stomach

Bundi (Rajasthan), May 15 (ANI): A team of doctors have removed 116 iron nails, a long wire and an iron pellet from the stomach of a 42-year-old man in Rajasthan's Bundi on Tuesday. Cop opens fire at neighbour in Lucknow, 3 injured

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), May 15 (ANI): At least three persons were injured after a Sub Inspector (SI) fired shots at a public place in Lucknow. Amit Kumar, a SI posted in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh district, opened fire following an argument with his neighbour in Madiyaon area of Lucknow. While speaking to media on the matter, Police official said, "It's a personal dispute. Three people were injured. Accused is apprehended and his service weapon has also been seized. Raebareli Congress MLA injured after alleged attack by BJP workers

Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh), May 15 (ANI): Congress MLA Aditi Singh's vehicle was attacked on her way to Raebareli. She has received minor injuries in the attack. She was headed for a floor test against Zila Panchayat chief Awadhesh Singh. Singh has alleged that the attack was done on Awadhesh Singh's direction near his brother Dinesh Singh's college. Encounter breaks out between police, miscreants in Kanpur, 1 injured

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), May 15 (ANI): An encounter broke out between police and miscreants in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur on Tuesday. This incident took place at Shyam Nagar area. GRP Inspector arrested for looting businessman in UP's Saharanpur

Agra (Uttar Pradesh), May 15 (ANI): Saharanpur Police has arrested a Government Railway Police (GRP) Inspector and two others for allegedly robbing a businessman in UP's Saharanpur. Superintendent of Police, GRP Abhishek Yadav said, "Lalit Tyagi was the incharge of the control room in Agra. He has been arrested by Saharanpur Police based on the loot case against him. Two others also have been arrested in this regard. Two other GRP personnel are wanted. They've been suspended and matter is being probed." The police said that GRP Inspector Lalit looted Rs 8.43 lakh from the businessman in the wee hours of May 13. Upon arrest, Rs 4.94 lakh was recovered from the possession of the accused.

Hyderabad, May 15 (ANI):The sister of a Hyderabad-based woman, who is allegedly stranded in Saudi Arabia's Riyadh, has sought External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's help to rescue her sibling.Rehmath Begum told ANI, that her sister, Ghousia Begum was allegedly sent to Riyadh on the pretext of a job offer by agents.Rehmath said, "An agent Tabassum and three other agents had approached my sister Ghousia Begum and offered her a good job in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia saying my sister will not have much work and can earn well there.""My sister left for Saudi Arabia on March 14, 2019. When she reached there, her employers started taking heavy work from her and are torturing her continuously. They are also not providing adequate food and water to her. They are also making my sister work in four to five different houses as housemaid," she added.Rehmath also said her family tried to contact the agents who sent Ghousia to Saudi Arabia but they were unreachable.

Howrah (West Bengal), May 15 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) national secretary Sourav Sikdar spoke to ANI on delay in the release of BJP youth wing leader Priyanka Sharma. Sikdar said, "We got Supreme Court's order at around 5:30 pm but the prison was closed by then. Still we spoke to jailor, she said they've received an e-mail but they can't release Priyanka on the basis of it. The jailor has asked us to speak to concerned CJM. Tomorrow we will also speak to DG prison." Priyanka Sharma was arrested for sharing a morphed picture of West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Facebook.
