She conducted roadshow along with Congress party candidate from Kanpur Shriprakash Jaiswal. Thousands of people and party supporters gathered to take a glimpse of their leader.
Shivpuri (MP), Apr 19 (ANI): Priyanka Chaturvedi, today joined Shiv Sena in presence of party president Uddhav Thackeray after resigning from Congress. While briefing the media on the same, Congress general secretary form Uttar Pradesh (West) Jyotiraditya Scindia said, "Firstly, Congratulation to Priyanka Chaturvedi, she fought many times while being with Congress. She has been a best spokesperson."

New Delhi, Apr 19 (ANI): Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi took a jibe on Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati's remark on Prime Minister Narendra Modi where she said that Mulayam Singh Yadav is truly from backward class unlike PM Modi. Naqvi said, "There is a new explanation in front of the country that a new office has opened, an office for distributing caste certificate. If you are not from their party then you will have to take caste certificate from them."

Income-Tax ki raid pad jaayegi to," He further added, "I said it for the first time on your stage that 'there is a government in the nation that boasts about making laws but if I come to power, one law will be abolished each day."

New Delhi, Apr 19 (ANI): Congress slammed Bharatiya Janata Party for Shadhvi Pragya's remark on ex- chief of the Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad, Hemant Karkare. While briefing a press conference, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, "People from BJP turned out to be friend of Pakistan terrorist Ajmal Kasab. BJP has committed the crime of calling the martyr of 26/11 Hemant Karkare a traitor."
Murshidabad (West Bengal), Apr 19 (ANI): Abhijeet Mukherjee, who is the Congress candidate for Jangipur Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal, has dismissed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's allegations that the BJP and RSS are supporting him, and termed it as "baseless claim". "I deny it. It's nothing but imaginary and baseless claim. In his statement at RSS HQ, Pranab Mukherjee (former President and his father) clearly stated to BJP and RSS that India is for all," Mukherjee told ANI.
Haridwar (Uttarakhand), Apr 19 (ANI): Two elephants died after getting hit by a train in Jamalpur Kalan village, Haridwar earlier today. A forest official said, "Today morning around 5, we got a call from Railways that a casualty took place. Both of them are male tuskers. Both of them have died after getting hit by the train."

Hooghly (WB), Apr 19 (ANI): House of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Women Wing president Locket Chatterjee was allegedly vandalised by All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers on Friday. Locket Chatterjee is also BJP's candidate from Hooghly Parliamentary constituency. Chatterjee tweeted, "TMC goons attacked my home in Hooghly today afternoon. They are disturbed with the support for BJP. Nothing can stop me, not even your cowardly attack. I will campaign more in coming days." West Bengal will vote in all seven phases for its 80 Lok Sabha seats, starting from the first phase on April 11 up to May 19.
Mumbai, Apr 19 (ANI): Priyanka Chaturvedi, who today joined Shiv Sena after resigning from Congress, said that she joined a "regional" political party and left a "national" organisation to fulfill her responsibilities that she feels she has for Maharashtra. Earlier in the day, Chaturvedi joined the Shiv Sena in presence of party president Uddhav Thackeray after resigning from Congress.
Etawah (UP), Apr 19 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a public rally in UP's Etawah. He mentioned the achievements made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his tenure. Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 19 (ANI): After Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi a 'fake' OBC leader, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya called her 'nakli bua' and Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav 'nakli bhatija'. "It is Mayawati's anxiety that's making her say so. On one hand, you have 'nakli bhatija' and on other you have 'nakli bua.' They are insulting the PM by using such language," Maurya told ANI.

Surendranagar (Gujarat), Apr 19 (ANI): Man who slapped Hardik Patel at a rally in Surendranagar, Gujarat has been identified as Tarun Gajjar. While speaking to ANI about the incident and reason behind taking the step, he said, "My wife was pregnant when Patidar agitation happened, she was undergoing treatment at a hospital, I had faced problems then, I had decided then, I'll hit this man. I had to teach him a lesson anyhow. Then again during his rally in Ahmedabad when I had gone to get medicine for my child, everything was shut down. He shuts down the roads; he shuts down Gujarat whenever he wants to, What is he? Gujarat's hitler." The incident took place while Patel was addressing a rally in Gujarat's Surendranagar on Friday.
