Won't talk to terrorists, will shred them into pieces if they attack again: Amit Shah

Kasganj (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 10 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Wednesday said that his government will not talk to terrorists and if they would try to do another attack in India, then his government will again enter their houses and shred them to pieces. 'We will not talk to any terrorist groups, that is for sure. Narendra Modi is going to be the PM once again, if terrorists dare to do something, we will enter their house again and shred them," Shah said at a public rally in UP's Kasganj.

Omar Abdullah stages protest against highway ban in JandK

Srinagar (JandK), Apr 10 (ANI): Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah staged protest in Srinagar against highway ban. He said, "We have been requesting govt to rethink the move. Ban is unnecessary. Army itself said that they don't want it and never asked for it. Ex-Army chief General Malik said it is a foolish move." Civilian movement has been restricted on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway for two days a week.

LS polls: Gurjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla joins BJP

New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Gurjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today in the national capital. His son Vijay Bainsla also joined BJP in the presence of Union Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar. Bainsla and his son also met BJP president Amit Shah in Delhi after joining the party. Rajasthan will go to polls in the fourth and fifth phases of Lok Sabha elections, i.e., on April 29 and May 06.

Rahul Gandhi files nomination for Amethi Lok Sabha seat

Amethi (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 10 (ANI): Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Congress president Rahul Gandhi filed nomination papers for Amethi Lok Sabha seat on Wednesday. He was accompanied by his mother and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, sister and Congress general secretary for Uttar Pradesh (East) Priyanka Gandhi and brother-in-law Robert Vadra. Gandhi is representing the constituency for the past 15 years. Rahul will face Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Smriti Irani. In 2014, Rahul had defeated Irani by over one lakh votes.

SC dismisses govt's preliminary objections in Rafale deal case, informs Arun Shourie

New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the Center's preliminary objections claiming 'privilege' over three Rafale documents cited in petition seeking review of the December 14 verdict on the fighter jet deal. Earlier, Arun Shourie filed the plea to review Rafale deal verdict. While addressing media after the Rafale deal verdict, petitioner Arun Shourie said, "The three judges have given unanimous judgment in which they've rejected the government's argument that firstly these documents cannot be considered because as the Attorney General said that they are stolen documents. This was on the face of it because if somebody is going to do something wrong, he is not going to take out full page advertisements in newspapers. So, that document has to be excavated. Madhav said, "Whatever Supreme Court wants, as government all the things will be placed before the Supreme Court. There is nothing to hide in that. Rafale case: RS Prasad slams Rahul Gandhi for 'motivated campaign' after SC allows leaked docs in review petition

Patna (Bihar), Apr 10 (ANI): After the Supreme Court dismissed Centre's preliminary objection in the Rafale case and allowed the leaked documents to be a part of the review petition, Union Minister of Law and Justice Ravi Shankar Prasad said that a "wrong" perception was being created that the SC order was a setback to the central government, and that the motivated campaign led by Congress president Rahul Gandhi will be repelled by the people of India. Prasad added that his government was sure that the review petition will be dismissed in all likelihood.

LS polls: Preparation underway for 1st phase of polling across India

Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir)/ Alipurduar (West Bengal)/ Dibrugarh (Assam), Apr 10 (ANI): Preparation for the first phase of polling is underway in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri, West Bengal's Alipurduar and Assam's Dibrugarh today. Polling parties departed with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for their respective polling stations. Lok Sabha polls will be held in seven phases from April 11 to May 19 which will cover 543 constituencies. Final results of Lok Sabha polls will be announced on May 23.

Artist makes sand art to create voting awareness at a beach in Puri

Puri (Odisha), Apr 10 (ANI): An artist from Odisha's Puri made sand art on a beach. Artist Manas Kumar Sahoo made the art in order to make people aware about the upcoming Lok sabha elections. Congress 'filling stomach' of its leaders from money meant for pregnant women: PM Modi

Junagarh (Gujarat), Apr 10 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday accused the Congress party of "filling the stomach" of its leaders from the money meant for pregnant women and poor children. PM Modi added that through this, Congress has attached itself to another scam which he called "Tughlaq Road Chunavi Ghotala". "Congress has snatched away food from poor children, snatched away their meal and is filling the stomach of its own leaders. Congress is looting the money designated for pregnant women," PM Modi said at a public rally in Gujarat's Junagarh.

Curfew imposed in J and K's Kishtwar after suspected militants killed RSS leader, PSO

Kishtwar (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 10 (ANI): Curfew was imposed in J and K's Kishtwar a day after suspected militants killed Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader and his Personal Security Officer (PSO) on Tuesday. Militants killed PSO by snatching his weapon in a hospital in Kishtwar town. The local RSS leader was identified as Medical Assistant Chandrakant Sharma.

MLA Mandavi was travelling in the last vehicle of the convoy which was hit by IED blast. IED blast was followed by a round of firing by Naxals.
