Dantewada (Chhattisgarh), Apr 09 (ANI): BJP MLA Bheema Mandavi was killed after his convoy was attacked by Naxals in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh today. DIG of Anti-Naxal Operations, P Sundar Raj said, "As per preliminary information, BJP MLA Bheema Mandavi, his driver and 3 PSOs were killed in the IED blast in Dantewada, today evening. It was a powerful IED blast. Bodies will be evacuated at the earliest for identification." According to CRPF, the escort vehicle of Chhattisgarh State Police came under the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast and 5 personnel of Chhattisgarh State Police are critically injured. The convoy of Mandavi came under attack between Kuakonta and Syamgiri area in Dantewada. Reinforcement of CRPF has rushed to the spot.
Bhopal (MP), Apr 09 (ANI): The Income Tax (I-T) raids continued on Tuesday morning at the residence of Ashwin Sharma, who is an associate of Praveen Kakkar. Praveen Kakkar is an officer on special duty (OSD) of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath. Security has also been beefed up at his residence. Raids began on April 7 at the residence of Praveen Kakkar in MP's Indore and former advisor to Kamal Nath R K Miglani in Delhi on charges of alleged tax evasion. According to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) official, "All I can tell him, it's not about jurisdiction. We were following govt orders. Raids are now over. MP Police's SHO Chouhan and DSP misbehaved with CRPF and hurled abuses at us. Since the matter has gone to a higher level, if I am asked about it, I'll definitely tell them."
Chitradurga (Karnataka), Apr 09 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed a rally in Karnataka's Chitradurga on Tuesday. During the rally he slammed Congress party and Janata Dal (Secular) alliance in the state. Bara (Nepal), April 09 (ANI): Over two dozen people were killed in a severe thunderstorm that swept through parts of southern Nepal. The survivors of a severe thunderstorm over the weekend in southern Nepal have been struggling to get back on their feet without sufficient food or a roof over their heads this week. The severe thunderstorm injured hundreds of people and destroyed nearly 400 houses. The storm accompanied by heavy rainfall, destroyed buildings, uprooted trees, electric, and telephone poles. With no roof on their heads and their food stock destroyed the people living in the impoverished settlements were the worst-affected.According to official reports, around 400 people were injured in rain-related incidents. Looking at the severity of the incident, rescue personnel from the Nepali army, the police and representatives from the local government are continuing the recovery efforts.
