New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): Soon after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released the party manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said, "In this election, the BJP has started its journey with the intention of development and security of this country. For the development of India's poor, farmers and all sections, the party will give a committed, decisive and a strong government to this country. The party will form a government which will fight terrorism, which can take action against infiltrators, which can spend on infrastructure and can provide employment opportunities, double the income of farmers." Further speaking on Congress' remark that 'instead of manifesto BJP should have come out with a 'maafinama', Goyal stated, "Their manifesto doesn't mention as to how to take country towards good governance, how to fight terrorism. It hasn't been able to rise above appeasement and dynasty politics."
New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): Aftab Khan, a young horse rider, is determined to overcome all hurdles that come in his way of living his dream of being an acclaimed name in sports of his choice 16-year-old Aftab cannot hear and speak but has a unique understanding with his horse Vertigo, whom he confidently rides and controls as per needs of the sport. In the 34th edition of the Delhi Horse Show held at Army Equestrian Centre, Aftab bagged the most promising junior rider award and a silver medal in jumping under junior rider category. Till now, he has won five awards since 2015 in The Delhi Horse Show and eight other national certificates in horse riding. Muzaffarnagar (UP), Apr 08 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday accused the BSP supremo Mayawati of insulting Dalit icons Kanshi Ram and Dr Ambedkar by appealing to Muslims to vote for the grand alliance. While speaking to mediapersons Yogi said, "Its disrespect to Kanshi Ram Ji and Dr Ambedkar by changing names of college. If she wants only Muslim vote then other voters will also decide where they want to go."
New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): Addressing a media conference on Monday, Indian Air Forces' Air Vice Marshal RGK Kapoor said, "The IAF has irrefutable evidence of not only the fact that the F-16 was used by Pakistan Air Force on February 27, 2019 but also that IAF MiG-21 Bison shot down the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) aircraft F-16." Kapoor further stated that, there is no doubt that two aircraft went down in the aerial engagement on 27 February 2019 one of which was the Bison of IAF while the other was F-16 of PAF conclusively identified by its electronic signature and radio transcripts. IAF has more credible evidence that is clearly indicative of fact that Pakistan has lost one F-16 in the air action. However, due to security and confidentiality concerns we are restricting the information being shared in the public domain." The IAF also released AWACS (Airborne Warning And Control System) radar images that confirms Pakistan F-16 was downed by MiG 21 on February 27.
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 08 (ANI): Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and president of National Conference, Farooq Abdullah said he will oppose the annulment of Article 370 as promised in Bharatiya Janata Party manifesto. He said, "Will we keep sleeping if you bring outsiders? We will confront it. How would you end 370? I swear to God, this is God's will. We will be independent."
Srinagar, Apr 08 (ANI): Speaking about BJP's promise of abrogation of Article 370 and annulling Article 35A in its election manifesto, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said, "BJP has failed in important issues like providing employment, farmers woes so they are looking for issues with which they convince the public to vote for them. Article 370 connects Jammu and Kashmir with India and if you annul it India's capture over Kashmir will become illegal and it becomes an occupational force. Already JandK is sitting on a pile of ammunition which we saw in the Pulwama attack. If this happens then not only Kashmir but the country and the region will burn. So I warn the BJP to stop playing with fire."

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 08 (ANI): Indian Army received first batch of Dhanush artillery gun on Monday. The Dhanush has a caliber of 155x45mm. Dhanush gun system is based on the designs of the Bofors howitzer which was inducted in the Army in the 1980s. It is a major boost to Army's firepower.
Sukma (Chhattisgarh), Apr 08 (ANI): A polling team consisting of 22 officers on Monday reached Naxal-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh to ensure 'peaceful' elections. District Magistrate Chandan Kumar, said, "Today, 22 teams will be sent from helicopters to Sukma. All the polling personnel were brought to the police line helipad from the bus. The Army's helicopter was sent to the polling booth for the police camps. We will work to ensure a peaceful election." Sukma will go to poll in the first phase of seven-phased election on April 11. The 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh will go to polls in three phases on April 11, 18 and 23. The results will be announced on May 23.

Addressing at the event, Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, "This is an indication of Modi ji's diplomatic success that when Pakistan threatened to boycott Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting if India was invited, then 56 out of 57 countries said let Pakistan not come."

He said, "Humare samaj mein vividhtayen hain aur isliye ek hi dande se sabko haanka nahi ja sakta. Mandya (Karnataka), Apr 08 (ANI): Around three Janata Dal (Secular)-JDS workers were reportedly attacked during Sumalatha Ambareesh rally in Karnataka's Mandya on Sunday. They were attacked by supporters of independent candidate Sumalatha during her election rally. JDS Member of Parliament (MP) candidate from Mandya, Nikhil Kumaraswamy met injured JDS workers at the hospital. Sumalatha conducted election rally ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Srinagar (JandK), Apr 08, (ANI): Razia Sultan from Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar has set an example among women of the Valley. Razia is the first female fencing coach working with government and non government organisations to promote the fencing game in Kashmir Valley. She comes from family of athletes, as her father was the former weightlifter and her brother is a football player. She took up sports as her carrier, along with her studies. Razia did her training in the game of fencing from Patiala, Punjab and has also won gold medal in national level tournaments. Razia is not only working as a fencing coach but she is also encouraging women to join the sport.

Actor-turned-politician and MNM chief Kamal Haasan released his party manifesto. Speaking to ANI on Income-Tax (I-T) raids being held at several locations of Congress leaders, Haasan said, "Those who hoard people's money, they should be raided, they should be punished. The raids have not taken place just during elections but before also."
