Kalaburagi (Karnataka), Apr 08 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on IT raids at locations of Congress leaders said, "Whatever's happening in MP, it's being done out of vengeance. By threatening like this during elections, centre is trying to create environment of fear among our workers. Modi ji does this, so I said ED and IT department are being misused. Conducting raids at the residences of the CM, his private secretary, Congress is not scared of these things. Congress is ready to face challenges but they (BJP) want to win by misusing their power. People will teach them a lesson."

4 arrested for showing black flag to BJP workers during election campaign in UP's Aligarh

Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 08 (ANI): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) councilor and three others got arrested after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers were shown black flag by BSP workers during election campaign in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh on Sunday. The incident took place at Jamalpur area of Aligarh. Police immediately reached at the spot and controlled the situation.

LS polls: BJP releases election manifesto in Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its 48-page election manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Delhi today. The manifesto was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah in Delhi. BJP's 'Sankalp Patra' was launched in the presence of Union External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. BJP manifesto will provide short-term new agriculture loans up to Rs 1 lakh at a 0% interest rate for 1-5 years on the condition of prompt repayment of the principal amount.

Farmers adopt anti-hail nets to protect apple farms from hailstorms in HP

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Apr 08 (ANI): The apple farmers in Himachal Pradesh have started covering their fields with anti-hail nets. The farmers have adopted this method, from last few years, in order to protect their farms from hails and other natural disaster. Due to hailstorms, the crop used to damage more often. The farmers from rural areas of Shimla, Kinnaur and Kullu districts are now trying to protect their crop with these anti-hail nets. The apple farms can be seen covered in nets. The farmer said that these nets have helped them in hail prone areas, and helps them cover cost of one plant up to Rs.800. The government had also installed the anti-hail guns, but, it was unsuccessful between the farmers. The farmers are hoping to get good crop ahead of the season, and have started installing anti-hail net in their farms. The government is offering 80% discount to those farmers who are installing anti-hails net. Farmers only have to pay Rs. 30,000.

The campaign was held to create awareness among specially-abled, dumb and deaf, voters. These voters even took oath to cast votes during the campaign.
