New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): Ahead of Lok Sabha elections residents of slums organised a protest named 'apna toilet ayega, mantri ghar ayega' at Jantar Mantar on Sunday. Kids wearing the mask of the different leaders and celebrities to stage protest against improper sanitation in the slum area and raised slogans 'apna toilet ayega'. Speaking to ANI, organiser said, "We have organised this protest as a unique invitation to Lok Sabha candidates to come and live in slums to feel what hardships we face due to lack of toilets."
Bengaluru, Apr 08 (ANI): A special prayer offered by the transgender community to goddess Kateramma Devi in Bengaluru on Sunday. It is believed that goddess Kateramma Devi belongs to water and earth and it also believes that Sunday is the special day to offer prayer to the goddess Kateramma Devi.

Bijnor (UP), Apr 08 (ANI): With Lok sabha polls inching closer, village in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district has collectively decided to not cast vote, citing poor condition of roads. Large numbers of residents of a village from of Bijnor Lok Sabha constituency have threatened to boycott polls if the main road connecting their village to the other part is not constructed. Speaking to ANI, one of the villagers said, "We have lot of issues, there is this road problem which affects us very adversely. The road is in very bad condition and there is a big pot holes. We have now decided that vote will be given only on the basis of work otherwise we will not cast the vote."
Udhampur (J-K), Apr 08 (ANI): Massive fire broke out at a house in Dhar road area of Jammu -Kashmir's Udhampur on Sunday. Fire brigade reached at the incident site and started fire fighting operations, which is still underway. No injuries have been reported till now.
New Delhi, Apr 08 (ANI): Breast cancer patients who do not respond to targeted therapy show epigenetic differences, a new study has revealed. According to the study, presented at the Experimental Biology 2019, breast cancer patients who don't respond to targeted therapy have different patterns of epigenetic modifications than patients who do respond. Epigenetic modifications change gene expression without altering the DNA's genetic code, Targeted cancer therapies use drugs to block molecules in cells that cause them to grow out of control. The therapy specifically targets cancer cells, unlike chemotherapy, which kills all quickly growing cells whether they are cancerous or not. Although the development of targeted therapies has increased breast cancer survival, treatment failure is still an important problem.

The Microsoft-owned messaging a video conferencing service announced that user will be able to call up to 50 people on a video or audio group call. Starting today, you will be able to make these large group calls. As explained on the official blog, instead of the default ringing, members will get a notification to join the call which will be less distracting. If you feel some family members or co-workers are likely to miss the notification, then you can choose individual members to ring. Alternatively, if there are less than 25 participants, you can ring the entire group. To start the large group calls, ensure that you are running the latest version of Skype.

On being questioned about his association with Praveen Kakkar and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, Ashwin Sharma said, "I am from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)". Mumbai, Apr 07 (ANI): Transgender Sneha Kale who is going to fight independently in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North-Central seat filed the nomination and is ready to fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) MP Poonam Mahajan and Congress leader Priya Dutt. While speaking to ANI, Sneha said, "Government hasn't paid much attention on us. I can make policies to improve conditions for people like me. I'm a transgender and I know the problems that people from different sections of society faces." She is living in Ghatkopar area of Mumbai.

Ludhiana (Punjab), Apr 07 (ANI): Migrant labourers in Punjab's Ludhiana face major problem as they won't be able to cast their vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Labourers have requested the government to make necessary arrangement for them so that they can cast their valuable vote and participate in the entire election process. A labourer from Bihar working in Ludhiana said, "We request government to make arrangements so that we can cast our vote from where we are living for work."
Charaideo (Assam), Apr 07 (ANI): Lakhi Pal, a 104-year-old woman from Assam's Santipur, is all set to cast her vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Lakhi Pal's daughter Madhu Pal said, "My mother considers voting as a national honour. She will surely go to cast her vote." The district administration has made all the necessary arrangements for 104-year-old woman so that she can cast her vote with ease and comfort.

While addressing a public rally, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati said, "I'm warning, especially people of Muslim community, that Congress isn't in a position to fight BJP in UP. Only 'gathbandhan' can fight BJP. Congress knows this but they're going by mantra 'Hum jeete ya na jeete, gathbandhan nahi jeetna chahiye'. Therefore, Congress party has fielded candidates from such castes and religion which will benefit BJP." SP president Akhilesh Yadav and Rashtriya Lok Dal president Ajit Singh were also present.
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 07 (ANI): While speaking on restriction of civilian movement on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway for two days in a week, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) president Farooq Abdullah said, "Traders' Federation president met me saying that 'our lifeline is this road and closing it will cause loss. This looks like some dictatorship law. They should use trains if they want the Army to commute or travel at night, so that it doesn't affect the people. The order should be withdrawn." Jammu and Kashmir state government had announced the ban to facilitate the movement of security personnel during the Lok Sabha elections.
