Truck hits drainage tank near Mumbai's Chembur

Mumbai, Apr 03 (ANI): A cargo truck hit a drainage tank in Mumbai's Chembur area due to which three people including a woman and two children fell inside the drainage tank and were trapped. One child has been rescued so far and rescue operation is on to save the woman and another child. Fire brigade officials and local people are presently carrying out the rescue operation.

Bomb found near Bikaner Air Force Station identified as mortar case: Rajasthan Police

Bikaner (Rajasthan), Apr 03 (ANI): A bomb-type item was found on Ganganagar Bypass road near Nal-Bikaner Air Force Station in Rajasthan's Bikaner. The item was later identified as mortar case by Indian Army's bomb squad, which took the item for further investigation. "Today morning, a kind of ammunition box was found on Ganganagar Bypass road. We informed Army about it. They said it was a mortar case. Army's bomb squad has taken it with them. Probe is on," said Pradeep Sharma, SP, Bikaner.

India's Mission Shakti a terrible thing, says NASA chief

New Delhi April 03 (ANI) - India's recent test of anti-satellite (A-SAT) missile has been termed as "a terrible, terrible thing" by NASA chief Jim Bridenstine, as reported by Engadget. According to Bridenstine, as per Engadget report, the anti-satellite missile test could "endanger astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS)."It is estimated that the risk to the ISS has increased by 44 per cent over the last ten days. Though the astronauts are safe and the ISS could be maneuvered if needed to avoid the debris, Bridenstine stressed that these activities are not sustainable or compatible with human spaceflight. It is being said that the missile that shot down the satellite reportedly created at least 400 pieces of orbital debris, including 60 larger than 6-inch in size. Ghulam Nabi Azad blames PM Modi for J-K's worsen situation

Kupwara (J-K), Apr 03 (ANI): Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad directly aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a public gathering in Jammu Kashmir's Kupwara. Blaming PM Modi for the critical situation in the Valley, the Congress leader said that during Congress' regime the situation in the Valley got normal, but after that in 2014 till today the situation has became worst like it was in 1990-91. Suspect in fatal shooting of Nipsey Hussle arrested

New Delhi, Apr 03 (ANI): Eric Holder, the 29-year-old suspect wanted in connection with the death of Nipsey Hussle was arrested in the city of Bellflower, southeast of L.A. by deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the news on Wednesday. "Thank you to both our community for the heightened awareness/vigilance, and our partners at @LASDHQ," police wrote in a tweet that also featured a picture of Holder with the words "In custody" written over it. American Rapper Ermias Davidson Ashedom, popularly known by his stage name Nipsey Hussle, was shot dead outside his store in Los Angeles on Sunday. The incident took place outside the Marathon Clothing Company, which he opened in 2017. Nipsey and the man suspected of killing him knew each other. 3-year-old girl raped in Rajasthan's Bharatpur: Police

Bharatpur (Rajasthan), Apr 03 (ANI): A three-year-old girl was raped near a railway station in Bharatpur city of Rajasthan, a Government Railway Police (GRP) official said. "The girl was found in an old factory building near railway station in Bharatpur, in a bloodied condition. China plans upgrading Tibetan Airport to facilitate Kailash Mansarovar visit

New Delhi, Apr 03 (ANI): China is planning to upgrade a domestic airport to an international one in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) to facilitate foreign tourists as well as Indian devotees visiting the holy site of Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar according to a senior Chinese official. Addressing a press conference on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, Deputy Commissioner of TAR, Ge Qingmin, said that the proposal to upgrade the Gunsa airport in Ali prefecture would provide convenience to the yatris. However, both India and China will have to work upon the proposal, he added. During the event, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of TAR, Baimanyangzong, highlighted the efforts undertaken by the Chinese government in improving the infrastructure to facilitate the pilgrims. Car of JP Nadda's OSD gets stolen in Delhi, recovered from Noida

Noida (UP), Apr 03 (ANI): A car of an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Union Minister JP Nadda was looted from Nizamuddin, Delhi. It was later recovered by Noida police from Sector 2, Noida today. Robbers escaped leaving the car. A case has been registered and legal action is being taken. While talking about the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gautam Buddh Nagar, Vaibhav Krishna said, "Information came around 10 pm that White Swift Desire car of Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Union Minister JP Nadda has been looted. The said OSD shared the GPS live location of the vehicle". He further added, "Four Crime Teams of Noida Police immediately rushed to the spot and the car was recovered from Sector 2, PS Sector 20, Noida. Car was looted from Barapula, PS Nizamuddin in Delhi. BHU student shot dead, 4 arrested

Varanasi (UP), Apr 03 (ANI): A student at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Gaurav Singh, died after being shot in the campus on Tuesday. The student has been admitted to BHU Trauma Centre in a critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries. He was shot at in front of Birla hostel when he was talking to his friends. He was studying MCA from the University. According to police official, "We have arrested four people in the case. It was a case of personal enmity".

Several booked for not depositing weapons in J and K's Doda, informs SSP

Doda (J and K), Apr 03 (ANI): An FIR has been filed against several people for not depositing weapons in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda. As per the guidelines of Election Commission of India, all weapons must be deposited during elections. The FIR was lodged against those who kept weapons illegally and violated the order. SSP of Doda Mohd Shabir Malik said, "According to guidelines of Election Commission, all the licensed weapons must be deposited throughout the country. So, on the basis of that we ordered to suspend licenses and to deposit all the weapons at the concerned police stations. Most people had deposited their weapons but some were not following the orders. As they were violating the rules and were keeping the weapons illegally, we charged FIR against them".

Cross-LoC trade suspended in the wake of Pak firing

Poonch (J and K), Apr 03 (ANI): Poonch-Rawalkot trade has been suspended for the day due to Pakistani Firing in Chakan-Da-Bagh area along the Line of Control (LOC). Cross LoC Trade Facilitation Centre Fareed Ahmed Koli said, "Today morning we had sent our vehicles for trade. As they reached near the immigration centre, some firing started at the border. In lieu of the same, the Army told us to recall the vehicles considering security concerns. We are waiting for further updates from the army but the delay may mean that no trade would be possible for today".
