India brings 6 oxygen containers from Saudi Arabia to India

Kutch (Gujarat), May 10 (ANI): In order to provide seamless transportation of medical oxygen, The India Navy, carrying six cryogenic oxygen containers from Saudi Arabia arrived at Mundra port on May 10. These oxygen containers were taken to Delhi via rail route.

COVID-19 curfew extended till May 17 in Bhopal

Bhopal (MP), May 10 (ANI): Bhopal district administration on May 09 announced that COVID-19 induced curfew in the state capital will be extended till May 17. In wake of COVID-19 infection surge, curfew was imposed on April 12 and was extended subsequently after every 1 week. Essential services and emergency travel are exempted from movement restrictions.

COVID cases dip as India registers 3,66,161 new infections

New Delhi, May 10 (ANI): India witnessed a dip in COVID-19 cases after the country reported 3,66,161 new infections in last 24 hours. With 7,45,237 active cases, COVID caseload of the country stood at 2,26,62,575. 3,754 new deaths in last 24 hours took the toll to 2,46,116. So far, 1,86,71,222 people won the battle against COVID-19. According to Indian Council of Medical Research, till date 30,37,50,077 samples have been tested for COVID-19 virus. Vaccination drive is underway and 17,01,76,603 vaccine doses have been inoculated.

Delhi metro services to remain suspended till 5 am on May 17

New Delhi, May 10 (ANI): Amid crippling COVID-19 situation in national capital, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on May 09 announced that metro rail services will remain suspended till 5 am on May 17. Delhi entered into an extended period of lockdown with strict restrictions to further curb the COVID surge. Positivity rate of Delhi dipped to 23% from 35% amid lockdown restrictions.

Petrol at Rs 91.53, diesel at Rs 82.06 per litre in Delhi

New Delhi, May 10 (ANI): Petrol and diesel prices in the national capital stood at Rs 91.53 and Rs 82.06 per litre, respectively on May 10. The petrol prices were increased by 26 paise per litre and diesel by 33 paise in Delhi. Petrol prices witnessed a minor surge across country and differ from state to state depending on the incidence of value-added tax. In Mumbai, the price of petrol and diesel stood at Rs 97.86 and Rs 89.17 per litre respectively. The price of petrol and diesel in Chennai was Rs 93.38 and Rs 86.96 per litre respectively and Rs 91.66 and Rs 84.90 per litre in Kolkata.

Moradabad (UP), May 10 (ANI): The whole country is under the grip of 2nd wave of coronavirus currently and amid it, the COVID cases in Uttar Pradesh continue to rise. Second consignment of medical aid from Israel arrives in India

Ghaziabad (UP), May 10 (ANI): A flight carrying second consignment of medical aid and equipment from Israel amid the crippling second wave of COVID-19 pandemic has landed in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad. Medical aid including 1,300 oxygen concentrators, 400 ventilators and other medical equipment arrived at Hindon Air Base. Israel sent the first consignment of life-saving equipment to India on May 04. Several countries are sending medical supplies and equipments to help India tide over the COVID-19 situation.

Heaviest Oxygen Express carrying 225MT oxygen leaves from Jamnagar to Delhi

So far it is the heaviest Oxygen Express as it carries 225 MT of liquid oxygen. New oral Covid-19 drug in India: 'Faster recovery, less oxygen dependency'

An anti-COVID oral drug developed by the DRDO has been approved by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for emergency use as an adjunct therapy in moderate to severe coronavirus patients. COVID: IAF airlifts oxygen containers from Singapore, Bangkok to Bengal

Flight carrying medical supplies from Netherlands arrives in Delhi

New Delhi, May 07 (ANI): A flight carrying medical supplies arrived in the national capital from Netherlands on May 07. It is the first shipment from Netherlands that carried 449 ventilators, 100 oxygen concentrators and other medical supplies. "Over the coming days, remaining medical equipment would be shipped. 133 test COVID positive at Assam's tea estate

Dibrugarh (Assam), May 07 (ANI): Zaloni Tea Estate in Dibrugarh in Assam shut down now after 133 people tested positive for COVID-19 here. Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh, Pallav Gopal Jha said, "133 cases were detected at Zaloni Tea Estate till yesterday, all patients are asymptomatic. Tea estate has been declared as containment zone."

CM Kejriwal reviews newly installed oxygen plant at Delhi hospital

New Delhi, May 06 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with Health Minister Satyendar Jain visited Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital on May 06 where an Oxygen Plant has been installed. "This is a 330 litres Oxygen Plant. This has the capacity to fill 50-60 cylinders daily. If supplied through a pipeline, it can cater to 33 patients for 24 hours. This will help the hospital. This is a 200-bed hospital," CM told ANI. Delhi has recorded 335 deaths, 19,133 new infections and 20,028 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

Russia approves Sputnik's single-shot vaccine

New Delhi, May 06 (ANI): Russia on May 06 approved Sputnik Light, the single-dose vaccine against COVID-19. According to the information on Sputnik V's twitter handle, the single-dose vaccine has 79.4% overall efficacy against coronavirus, and is a "reliable pandemic fighter". Sputnik V, which is approved in 64 countries with a total population of over 3.2 billion people, has already started arriving in India for emergency use.

COVID -19: People rush to the airport before international flights halt

Kathmandu (Nepal), May 6 (ANI): Due to the surge in COVID cases and fatalities in Nepal, a cabinet meeting decided the closure of International Flights starting from Wednesday. Serpentine lines were seen outside the terminal of International Airport. On Wednesday, Tribhuwan International Airport remained packed with travelers before closure. Police personnel were seen requesting people to maintain social distancing. Nepal has announced to produce RT-PCR report before boarding the flight.
