New Delhi, Apr 07 (ANI): With the spike of COVID-19 cases in Delhi, Health Minister Satyendar Jain informed that Delhi government has increased 2000 beds in hospitals in the last 3 days. "In the last 3 days, more than 2000 beds have been increased in hospitals. I would like to appeal to the public to wear masks and maintain social distancing and wash hands before touching," the minister said. "5100 positive cases reported and 1,30,453 testing done on Apr 06. 4.93% increase in positivity rate but cases have increased these days," he added.
Jammu, Apr 07 (ANI): The family of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, who was part of the party that was attacked by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur and has been held captive by them, requested the government to take action and to ensure his release. His wife said, "If a jawan reports to his duty a day after his leave ends then action is taken against him. Now that a jawan is missing since April 3 no action has been taken by government. We want government to search for a mediator so that he is released." Communist Party of India (Maoist) released a statement and confirmed abduction of the CRPF jawan during the encounter that happened on April 03 in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur.
Agartala (Tripura), April 7 (ANI): The mortal remains of slain CRPF jawan Shambhu Roy reached his home state Tripura on April 6. Shambhu was killed in the fierce encounter with the Naxals in Chhattisgarh on April 3 along with 22 personnel. MP from West Tripura Pratima Bhowmick, MLA Dr. Dilip Das, CRPF IG (Tripura) Satpal Rawat among others paid tribute to martyred Shambhu Roy. After paying full gun honour salute by CRPF with barrels downward, the body of the martyr left for his ancestral house at Bhagyapur village in North Tripura district.
With the completion of its majestic arches, the construction of the iconic Chenab Arch Bridge, which will soar 359 metres above the bed of the river and will be 30 metres higher than the Eiffel Tower in Paris, has reached another milestone. The bridge, which will be the world's highest bridge once completed in December, will provide all-weather connectivity to Kashmir with the rest of the country seamlessly. Mumbai, Apr 07 (ANI): Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on April 07 announced revised projection for CPI inflation of financial year 2021-22. "The projection for CPI inflation has been revised to 5% in Q4 of 2021, 5.2%, in Q1 of 2021-22, 5.2% also in Q2 of 2021-22, 4.4% in Q3, and 5.1% in Q4 with risks broadly balanced. On March 31, 2021, the government retained the inflation target at 4% with the lower and upper tolerance levels of 2% and 6%, respectively, for the next five years that is from April 2021 to March 2026. An inflation rate of 4% over the medium term has now been successfully entranced the economic landscape," said RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das.

New Delhi, Apr 07 (ANI): The COVID-19 cases continued to surge in India and 1,15,736 new cases reported in the country on Apr 07. The country's COVID caseload stood at 1,28,01,785 and currently there are 8,43,473 active cases in India . 59,856 people were discharged in last 24 hours taking total recoveries to 1,17,92,135. With 630 new deaths, death toll mounts to 1,66,177. According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 25,14,39,598 samples tested for COVID-19, up to April 06. The COVID vaccination drive is underway across country. So far 8,70,77,474 COVID vaccine jabs have been inoculated.

Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh), April 06 (ANI): Mortal remains of CRPF jawan Routhu Jagadish were brought to his native place in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram on April 05. He lost his life in an encounter with Naxals at the Sukma-Bijapur border in Chhattisgarh on April 3. Large number of people came to pay floral tribute to the slain soldier. In the deadly Naxals attack, at least 22 security personnel were killed, and around 32 sustained injuries in the encounter.
New Delhi, April 06 (ANI): South Korean multinational electronics company LG recently confirmed that it will be exiting the smartphone business. The company's existing phones will remain on sale, and it will continue to support its products "for a period of time which will vary by region." According to The Verge, LG said in a statement that this decision will "enable the company to focus resources in growth areas such as electric vehicle components, connected devices, smart homes, robotics, artificial intelligence and business-to-business solutions, as well as platforms and services." The company has yet not said anything about the possible layoffs due to this decision, except that "details related to employment will be determined at the local level."
