BSF organises COVID awareness camp in Srinagar

Srinagar (JandK), Nov 20 (ANI): The 33rd Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) organised a COVID-19 awareness program in Srinagar. The awareness program was held in association with central government's AYUSH Department at Srinagar's Pantha Chowk area. The camp saw free distribution of immunity boosting medicines to the local population and aware the people about best practices needed to tackle the pandemic. BSF's initiative got a good response as people from different parts of the region attended the camp.

Microsoft Teams now offers 24-hour video calls for free

New Delhi, Nov 21 (ANI): Microsoft is now rolling out an all-day video calling option that will let Microsoft Teams users use the calls free for 24 hours. According to Mashable, this new feature supports up to 300 participants and can be the perfect way for a large crowd together this season without further spreading COVID-19. At a time when most video streaming services have a time limit, Microsoft intends to put no limits on family calls this holiday season. As per Mashable, to start a video call with Microsoft Teams, the host will need a Microsoft account. Once logged in, the host can simply share the meeting link to friends and family who can then join the meeting via the Web for free without even needing a Microsoft account.

Terrorist safe havens, sanctuaries operating across Durand Line must end for peace in Afghanistan: India

New York (USA), Nov 21 (ANI): India on November 20 at the United Nations (UN) said that as peace process and violence cannot go together, therefore for durable peace in Afghanistan there must be "an end to terrorist safe havens and sanctuaries operating across the Durand Line". While speaking during Arria Formula Meeting at the UN on the theme "What can the Security Council do to support the peace process in Afghanistan", TS Tirumurti, Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations urged the Security Council to speak "unequivocally against violence and terrorist forces" and act against the terrorist sanctuaries and safe-havens. All Haryana schools to remain shut till Nov 30

Karnal (Haryana), Nov 20 (ANI): Haryana government on November 20 announced the decision to shut schools in state till Nov 30 after several cases of coronavirus were reported following the reopening. Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal confirmed the news. "We have found positive cases in schools, so we have closed schools for next 15 days," he said. Later he clarified that initially schools will remain closed till November 30.

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij was on Friday administered a trial dose of potential coronavirus vaccine Covaxin, becoming the first volunteer in the state for the third phase trial of the vaccine. The third phase trial of Bharat Biotech's Covaxin began in the state on Friday and the 67-year old senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader was administered the trial dose at the Civil Hospital at Ambala Cantt. Covaxin is being developed indigenously by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Meanwhile, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said he was confident that Covid-19 vaccine would be ready in the next three-four months and added that the priority to provide the same to 1.3 billion Indians would be based on scientific evaluation.
