Bihar Assembly elections: Deputy CM Sushil Modi, Chirag Paswan cast their votes

Patna (Bihar) / Khagaria (Bihar), Nov 03 (ANI): As second phase of Bihar Assembly elections are underway, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi came to vote today in Patna's Rajendra Nagar. He said, "I appeal to the people to step out of their homes, cast their vote, maintain social distancing and keep wearing mask." Governor Phagu Chauhan also cast his vote for at polling booth in Patna's Digha and said, "I appeal to the people to participate in election in large numbers. I hope that voting percentage will be more than previous time." Meanwhile, LJP president Chirag Paswan cast his vote at polling booth in Khagaria in 2nd phase of Bihar elections. 1463 candidates are in fray for 94 seats across 17 districts of Bihar.

Deoria (UP)/ Surat (Gujarat)/ Bengaluru/ Sonipat (Haryana), Nov 03 (ANI): Voting began for by-polls in 54 Assembly seats across 10 states on November 03. A total of 28 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 8 in Gujarat, 7 in Uttar Pradesh, 2 each in Odisha, Nagaland, Karnataka and Jharkhand, and one seat each in Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Haryana going to polls today. The counting of votes for the by-polls will be on November 10.

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), Nov 03 (ANI): Voters arrived at a polling booth on November 03 in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior to cast their vote for the by-elections of the state Assembly constituency. Voting will be held on 28 Assembly seats of the state. The BJP currently has 107 MLAs, while the Congress has 87 legislators in the House. The counting of votes for the by-polls will be on November 10.

IPL: 'Wicket was slow in 1st innings', says RCB's Shahbaz on loss against DC

Abu Dhabi (UAE), Nov 03 (ANI): Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Abu Dhabi by six wickets in Match 55th of IPL-2020 at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on November 02. RCB is at third position in the points table and they have managed to seal spot for playoffs. RCB's all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed spoke about the crucial game. "Today's match was very much crucial for us and our average was better so we have qualified (for playoff).What was good for our team was that our intensity in the game. We did not leave the match till the end, so our average was better," said Ahmed "In the second innings the wicket got better but in the first innings it was a bit slow and we were 15 runs short," he added.

BSF organises medical camp for locals in Poonch

Bihar polls phase 2: 'People will vote for change,' says Tejashwi Yadav

Raghopur/ Patna (Bihar), Nov 03 (ANI): As Bihar goes to polls in second phase on November 3, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav while talking to ANI said that people of "Bihar will vote for change". Yadav said, "In this tsunami of change people of Bihar will vote on agenda of 'Padhai, Kamai, Dawai, Sichai, Mehengai'. I am sure they will vote for us as they want achange in state, they want proactive and progressive government. People of Bihar will vote for change." Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Nov 03 (ANI): All 'Aahar Centres' in Odisha's Bhubaneswar became operational from November 02. Centres run by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) serve food at nominal cost of Rs 5. Speaking to ANI, BMC Deputy Commissioner Suvendu Kumar Sahoo said, "There are 12 'Aahar Centres' under BMC of which only five were operating and all of them are functional now."

Gopalganj (Bihar), Nov 03 (ANI): Bike-borne men allegedly attacked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Bihar's Baikunthpur, Mithilesh Kumar Tiwari on November 02. He staged a sit-in protest outside police station alleging that attackers were supporters of independent candidate Manjeet Singh. He also accused police of inaction. Speaking to media, Mithilesh Kumar Tiwari said, "There were reports that Independent candidate Manjeet Singh's men are distributing money and sarees among people. I was talking to my workers about this when around 50 bike-borne men-supporters of Manjeet Singh came and attacked me." "I will sit here until their arrest," said MLA as he sat on protest outside police station.

Google Meet desktop users can now customise backgrounds on video calls

New Delhi, Nov 03 (ANI): Tech giant Google is introducing custom backgrounds for its Meet video-conferencing platform, the company announced in a blog post. According to The Verge, if the user makes use of Meet in Google's Chrome browser, then he/she should be able to access the feature in Chrome OS as well as on Windows and Mac laptops and desktops. The feature is "coming soon" to mobile, Google said. However, no browser extension is needed to activate custom backgrounds; and the user should be able to add a background image from his/her own photo collection or from a library of images provided by Google. The library includes landscapes, abstract art and offices. As reported by The Verge, it may take up to a week before all Google Meet users can access the new custom background option, the company said. Google integrated Meet into Gmail in May, adding a sidebar link and making meetings of up to 100 people with no time limits available to anyone with a Google account.

V Muraleedharan said, "The findings of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau reaffirm the fact that M Sivasankar, former Principal Secretary of Kerala CMO, is supposed to be a culprit. So the relationship between Chief Minister, Principal Secretary, and the crime has been proved." Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau named M Sivasankar, former Principal Secretary of Kerala CMO, as the 5th accused in the Wadakkanchery Life Mission scam case. Bureau has submitted a report in the Special Vigilance Court in Thiruvananthapuram on November 02.
