Whenever there is room for relaxation they violate social distancing norm. 112 aspirational districts account for 2 percent of COVID-19 cases: Amitabh Kant

New Delhi, May 04 (ANI): Niti Aayog CEO and Chairman of Empowered Group-6 of the government Amitabh Kant informed about the aspirational districts status on COVID-19 cases. He said that there are about 610 cases of COVID-19 in 112 aspirational districts which is considered fairly low at less than 2 per cent of the national level of infections. "Of these, six districts have reported first case after April 21," he added.

COVID-19: 1,074 people cured in last 24 hours, recovery rate increases to 27.52 percent , informs Health Ministry

New Delhi, May 04 (ANI): Health and Family Welfare Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal on May 04 informed about the latest status of COVID-19 in the country. He said that till now, 11,706 people have been cured. In the last 24 hours, 1074 people have been cured in the country. "This is the highest number in terms of cured patients noted till date. Our recovery rate is now 27.52 percent . Total number of COVID-19 cases is now 42,533," he added.

Drivers, transporters can lodge complaint on ministry's control room no. 1930 pertaining to lockdown: MHA

New Delhi, May 04 (ANI): Ministry of Home Affairs Joint Secretary (Women Safety) Punya Salila Srivastava on May 4 informed that the Ministry has asked states to ensure that there should not be any issues in interstate cargo movement. The MHA control room number 1930 and NHAI helpline number 1033 may be used by drivers and transporters to lodge any complaint pertaining to lockdown. Lockdown has been extended for two more weeks till May 17.

Need not to pay for special train tickets: CM Nitish Kumar to migrant workers

Patna (Bihar), May 04 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar informed that Bihar migrant labourers need not to pay for the special train tickets. "I want to thank Centre for considering the suggestion to run special trains to send the people of Bihar who are stranded in other states back to Bihar. Nobody will have to pay for the tickets. A quarantine centre has been set up here for them. All of them will be staying at quarantine centre for 21 days. After which they will be given a minimum amount of Rs. 1000 each by Bihar government. Under this scheme, Rs. 1000 has already been given to 19 lakh people in the state," said Kumar.

Radha Soami Satsang Beas Ashram provides shelter to thousands of stranded people

Saharnpur (UP), May 04 (ANI): The Radha Soami Satsang Beas Ashram facility in Saharnpur city of Uttar Pradesh has become a shelter house for hundreds of stranded migrant workers, who left for their homes during nationwide lockdown amid COVID-19 pandemic. These workers had left for their homes but got stranded in the city. Though the administration transported around 4000 to their destinations but still around 900 of them remained stuck in Saharanpur. Here, these workers are now looked after by the Radha Soami Satsang Beas, who along with local administration made proper bed arrangements for them under huge sheds, maintaining social distancing. Hygienic and healthy food, which is made in the ashram's modern and clean community kitchen, is also served to them three times a day. Along with this, giant projector screens have also been set up for the entertainment of the migrant workers.
