New Delhi, Apr 01 (ANI): Delhi's Jhandewalan Mandir remained closed on April 01 on the occasion of 'Maha Ashtami' for devotees amid lockdown on eighth day of 'Chaitra Navratri'. Nationwide lockdown has been imposed in backdrop of coronavirus outbreak. The temple authorities have also put a notice board stating the temples will be closed to deal with the spread of coronavirus. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21-day lockdown in the entire country from March 25-April 14.
Mumbai, Apr 01 (ANI): Heavy crowd was seen at a vegetable market in Mumbai on April 01 amid nationwide lockdown in wake of coronavirus. Locals were seen buying essential commodities at Dadar vegetable market in Mumbai. They also violated norms of social distancing while purchasing vegetables and fruits. 16 more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Mumbai and two more cases have been reported in Pune, taking the total number of cases in the state to 320. Total 12 people have died due to COVID-19 in Maharashtra till now. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 1238 in India with 35 deaths.
New Delhi, Apr 01 (ANI): Migrant workers waited outside Sarvodaya Co-education Senior Secondary School in Delhi's Patparganj on April 01 amid coronavirus lockdown. They claimed that they are not allowed to enter the school as it is full. The school was converted into a temporary shelter home to accommodate homeless and migrant workers. While speaking to ANI, a resident of Haryana's Palwal, Sahil Khan, said, "We have been told that this shelter home is full. They are trying to shift us to another shelter home." According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 1238 in India with 35 deaths.
Chittoor (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 01 (ANI): The Health department officials in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district identified 15 persons on March 31 who had attended a Tablighi Jamaat gathering at Markaz Nizamuddin in Delhi. They identified them in Srikalahasti town of Chittoor district. Health department officials have shifted them to Sri Venkateswara Ramnarain Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati on the fear that they might have been infected with coronavirus. This came after several people who had participated in the religious gathering in Delhi tested positive for the coronavirus. Six persons from the neighbouring state Telangana who attended a religious prayer meeting at the Tablighi Jamaat headquarters, or the Markaz, from March 13-15 in Delhi's Nizamuddin, have died of coronavirus. Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 01 (ANI): The Government of Andhra Pradesh has started door to door distribution of welfare pensions on April 01. Ward volunteers distributed the welfare pensions in Andhra Pradesh's Amaravati. In wake of coronavirus spread, instead of taking biometric thumb impressions, beneficiaries were identified with photo identity for getting welfare funds. The government claimed that 53% of pensions were distributed by 08:30 am in the area. The beneficiaries will receive amount of Rs 2,250 as pension while transgenders and people with disabilities will receive amount of Rs 3,000.
New Delhi, Apr 1 (ANI): Suspected COVID-19 patients continued to board buses in Nizammudin area. The buses will take them to different hospitals for a checkup. A religious gathering was held in Nizamuddin Markaz. Several positive cases have been found among those who attended the gathering.

New Delhi, Apr 01 (ANI): Google's Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones will no longer be available for purchase, a company spokesperson confirmed to the tech news portal, Android Police. The 2018 flagship phones were removed from availability on the Google Store as the company has sold through the inventory and sales have completed, a report notes. The product listing now redirects to the Google Store homepage. However, other retailers such as BandH Photo and Best Buy may still have the stock.

They have taken responsibility to feed needy too. "We have decided to feed the stray animals as lockdown continues," said a local in Kanpur.
Ranchi (Jharkhand), Apr 01 (ANI): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren kick-started 'CM Kitchen' scheme in Ranchi. Food will served to 5000 people every day. Meals will be transported from the city to villages in trains. CM Hemant Soren said, "Disaster has come suddenly and the lockdown was done. People of Jharkhand and country who have gone abroad are stranded, while people of different districts of Jharkhand are stuck in other states, people of many other states are also trapped in Jharkhand."
Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Apr 1 (ANI): A shelter home has been set up in Raipur by the district administration for the stranded and needy people in the city amid coronavirus lockdown. Food and other essential items are being served to people here. Gaurav Singh, Zila Panchayat CEO said, "At least 180 people are staying here and we are doing our best to help them."
Bargarh (Odisha), Apr 01 (ANI): Keeping in mind the current situation of coronavirus around the country, a couple from Odisha decided to have isolated wedding. No relatives were present in their marriage ceremony. The marriage took place at a police station to ensure social distance was maintained. All precautionary methods were taken before the rituals were performed. The couple thanked the police for their assistance.

People expressed gratitude by showering flowers on them in Patiala. Thunderous applause echoed in lanes of Nabha for workers.
Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Apr 01 (ANI): A Sambar deer got stuck in a rivulet in Chirgaon area of Shimla. Forest Department came to its rescue. Deer was later released to its natural habitat.
Panchkula (Haryana), Apr 01 (ANI): Arhaan Agarwal, a class 12th student has come up with a unique idea to help elders in Panchkula. Arhaan came up with a website 'Errands For Elders' to ensure delivery of daily supplies to senior citizens amid lockdown. Arhaan is accompanied by group of volunteers for delivery of necessities to doorsteps of senior citizens. Arhaan and volunteers have completed over 50 deliveries so far. "It is a wonderful initiative by youngster, and everyone should follow him to help elders," said a resident.
Mumbai (Maharashtra), Mar 31(ANI): Maharashtra Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh requested the labourers from other states to not leave Mumbai. He said, "We have made adequate arrangements of food and shelter for them. There is no need to leave Maharashtra." Deshmukh further said that on April 01 we celebrate April Fools' Day with our friends. Therefore, he appealed everyone to not spread rumors and misinformation. "Strict action will be taken against those who indulge in rumor-mongering," he added.
