RS Pura (JandK), Mar 28 (ANI): A house collapsed in Jammu and Kashmir's RS Pura claiming one life on March 27. At least five others received severe injuries in the accident. Injured were shifted to the hospital after the incident. Police reached the spot immediately, further investigation is being conducted.

Shamshabad (Telangana), Mar 28 (ANI): A road accident occurred in Telangana's Shamshabad area. At least five people lost their lives after a lorry rammed into a mini-truck. Six others received severe injuries in the accident. They were taken to hospital soon after the incident was reported. Further investigation is underway. Mini-truck was carrying 30 people who were going to Raichur, Karnataka.
Varanasi (UP), Mar 28 (ANI): Holy city of Varanasi wore a deserted look during lockdown to counter the coronavirus pandemic. Ganga Ghat one of the most famous places for 'Aarti' remained silent. Police teams were deployed in the state in an effort to ensure that the rules of the lockdown are followed. In his address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a 21-day lockdown in the entire country to deal with the spread of coronavirus, mentioning that 'social distancing' is the only option to deal with the disease, which spreads rapidly. The number of active coronavirus cases in the country has surpassed 700.
Agartala (Tripura), Mar 28 (ANI): Tripura police distributed food packets to the attendants of patients in a hospital during lockdown. The state government has decided to distribute food packets through the help of police among people who don't have access to food amid lockdown. The government has also organised food packets for homeless in state.
New Delhi, Mar 28 (ANI): Delhi-UP border witnessed a huge crowd amid lockdown in Delhi on March 27. Migrant labourers carrying their luggage with families reached Delhi-Ghazipur border. They were stopped by police personnel as borders have been sealed exempting essential services. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has appealed migrant labourers stay in Delhi and assured them of assistance. Delhi CM had also said that food has been arranged for over 2 lakh needy in national capital.
Guwahati (Assam), Mar 28 (ANI): People thronged vegetable market in Assam's Guwahati amid lockdown. No social distance was maintained by crowd. Police intervened and dispersed people. Later, locals were seen standing at a distance to buy essentials. Social distance has become one of major steps to combat the coronavirus situation in the country.
Siliguri (WB), Mar 28 (ANI): West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services sanitised Siliguri district hospital amid coronavirus situation in the country. Hospital premises were completely disinfected to restrict the spread. 10 positive cases have been reported so far in West Bengal. Country currently has 724 positive COVID-19 cases. Recently, CM Mamata Banerjee penned down a coronavirus song to alert people about the pandemic in state.
New Delhi, Mar 28 (ANI): Regular concert-goers stuck at home during the coronavirus pandemic can look forward to Instagram's live music festival. As the official release notes, the 'Live in your living room' festival will see popular Indian artists including Armaan Malik, Naezy and Lisa Mishra performing live on Instagram on March 29. The live festival will begin from 5 pm (IST) and go on until midnight. There will be 14 artists who will use IG Live for a slot of 30 minutes. They will go live from their respective Instagram accounts and perform from their homes for the Instagram audience.
Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Mar 28 (ANI): SN Patra, Odisha Assembly Speaker called an urgent press conference where he informed that entire staff of Odisha Legislative Assembly has been quarantined after an employee at Assembly was found to have contacted a COVID-19 positive person. "After an employee at Odisha Legislative Assembly was found to have contacted a COVID-19 positive person, the entire staff of the assembly has been quarantined and Assembly building is being sanitized. The Assembly session that is scheduled to start from 30th March will be shifted to Loka Seva Bhawan. I request all political parties to attend the session with 1/3rd of their MLA's," said SN Patra, Odisha Assembly Speaker.
Mumbai, Mar 28 (ANI): As the essential service providers continue to work on toes during coronavirus situation, a restaurant in Mumbai's Kurla decided to do their part. They made and distributed around 500 food packets to essential service workers. Restaurant staff also decided to provide meals to needy amid lockdown every day.
Mumbai, Mar 27(ANI): Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das on March 27 requested countrymen to ignore using hard currency and go for digital payments to stay safe from COVID-19 infection. The rupee notes can cause infection to the holder if they were used by infectious person prior. Hence, the RBI governor requested people to use all the digital payment options.
Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Mar 27(ANI): Health Minister of Chhattisgarh TS Singh Deo on March 27 informed about the preparations of the state if the patients of the dreadful virus increase. He said that preparations are going on to deal with the situation if the COVID-19 patient increased. State AIIMS hospital has 100 beds for COVID-19 patients and additional 100 beds will be placed shortly there. Deo also informed that rather setting up small units for the patients' state government is thinking of setting up a large unit where COVID-19 patients can be treated to stop infection.
Bareilly/Noida (UP), Mar 27(ANI): A Muslim woman named her new born Mohd. Ranvijay Khan after Noida ADCP, Ranvijay Singh came to her rescue. Anis Khan, father of the newborn was in Noida for some work when on March 22, Government of India imposed lockdown. Anis tried every way possible to come to Bareilly but because of the lockdown, no means was possible. After which, Tamanna, mother of the newborn made a video requesting for help from Bareilly SSP, Shailesh Singh as her delivery date was due. Bareilly SSP forwarded the video to Noida ADCP, Ranvijay Singh after which he personally ensured that Anis was back to his place in due time. Following which Tamanna and Anis named their newborn after the name of Noida ADCP, Ranvijay Singh.
Gandhinagar (Gujarat), Mar 27 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani held a meeting with officials on March 27. The meeting was held to discuss the measures to be taken to control the coronavirus spread. Till now, over 40 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported from Gujarat.
Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Mar 27(ANI): Health Minister of Chhattisgarh TS Singh Deo on March 27 reacted on a woman from Bilaspur tested positive for coronavirus. He said that Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is examining how a 60-year-old woman who came to India on February 12 tested positive two days ago? "The ICMR is examining that is it possible that woman shows symptoms after 14 days of incubation period or symptoms arrived but she didn't disclosed it."
New Delhi, Mar 27 (ANI): Delhi Commissioner of Police SN Shrivastava on March 27 informed that the police are taking stringent action against the lockdown violators. He said that as many as 250-300 violators have been arrested and 1,000 people were detained who violated the lockdown rules. He urged people to follow the rules and stay at their homes.
Chennai, Mar 27 (ANI): A massive fire broke out at SIPCOT campus in Tamil Nadu on March 27. More than 50 fire-fighters are present at the spot to douse the flames. The reason behind the fire is yet to ascertain. Further details are awaited.
New Delhi, Mar 27 (ANI): Hundreds of people were seen walking on foot toward their homes in different districts of Uttar Pradesh, at Ghazipur near Delhi-UP border in absence of transport services due to coronavirus lockdown. A similar crowd was witnessed near Anand Vihar area. The migrant labourers are worst affected social section due to COVID-19. A migrant said, "All these people are going to their native village. These are all daily wagers who have no food supply. Our home is around 400 km away." Another migrant added, "We are coming from Raghubir nagar, Rajouri Garden. PM Modi has asked for lockdown, but should we die of hunger. There is no arrangement for us, what should we do? Government is making arrangement on roads, but who knows about us? Out native village is in Badaun (Uttar Pradesh), we will walk there." Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has requested migrants labourers to return to Delhi and has assured them food supply.
Lucknow (UP), Mar 27 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh government has set up the control room at UP Bhawan to listen to the grievances of people stranded in different states amid national lockdown due to coronavirus. Officer In-Charge (Arrangements) at UP Bhawan, Rajesh Choubey said, "As per the guidelines of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, we have set up the control room for people stranded in different states amid lockdown due to coronavirus. We are trying to help and listen to the grievances of people. We have asked them to stay wherever they are for now and we will take action as soon as we get any guidelines from the government".
