Nirbhaya's mother still hopeful as Delhi court issues another death warrant for convicts

New Delhi, Mar 05 (ANI): A Delhi court issued a fresh death warrant against the four convicts in Nirbhaya case on March 05. Convicts are to be hanged at 05.30 am on March 20. While speaking to ANI, mother of 2012 gang-rape victim Nirbhaya, Asha Devi said, "Since the four convicts have exhausted all the legal remedies. I hope that they will be hanged till death on the designated date."

India-EU Summit will be rescheduled due to 'COVID-19' situation: MEA

New Delhi, Mar 05 (ANI): India-EU Summit, which Prime Minister Modi had to attend, will be rescheduled due to Novel Coronavirus situation across the world, informed Raveesh Kumar, MEA. "As far as India-EU Summit is concerned which PM Modi had to attend, the health authorities of both the countries suggested that travelling must not take place at present. So, it has been decided that Summit will be rescheduled on a mutually convenient date," said Raveesh Kumar.

820 beds in isolation ready to counter coronavirus spread: UP Health Minister

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 05 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh informed that the state government has kept 820 beds in isolation to counter coronavirus spread. "We have kept 820 beds in isolation in district hospital if there is a need for this disease (coronavirus) anywhere, and for this arrangements have also been made for beds in seven medical colleges as well. We don't have any positive case in Uttar Pradesh after getting these samples," said Singh while addressing a press conference over coronavirus alert in the state.

Lucknow administration bans sale of meat, fish in open areas amid coronavirus threat

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 05 (ANI): While speaking to ANI on March 05 about coronavirus health advisory, the District Magistrate (DM) of Lucknow Abhishek Prakash said, "The sale of meat, semi-cooked meat and fish has been banned in open areas in the district to ensure that coronavirus does not transmit through meat." Equity indices in the green, FMCG and IT stocks gain

New Delhi, Mar 05 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices traded with a positive bias during early hours on Thursday as global markets swung higher with central banks offering interest rate cuts to stabilise economic outlook amid spreading coronavirus. At 10:15 am, the BSE S-P Sensex was up by 94 points to 38,503 while the Nifty 50 edged higher by 24 points at 11,275. Most sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the positive terrain with Nifty FMCG gaining by 1.6 per cent, IT by 1.04 per cent and pharma by 0.8 per cent. Among stocks, Hindustan Lever ticked up by 2.9 per cent at Rs 2,240 per share and Britannia by 2 per cent at Rs 3,127.20 apiece.

While addressing the young police officers at the event, Doval said, "Ballot box elects people for the legislature, not for the executives. They take executive functions but essentially, it is a legislative assembly or Parliament. It is for the legislative body and what is a legislative body? It makes law. So, Law making is the most sacrosanct job in the democracy. And you are the enforcers of that law. If you fail to enforce laws, democracy fails. A law is as good as it is executed on the ground."

Speaking on role of digital medium for independent music, Chauhan said, "I feel in today's date and age, digital medium is very strong and because of it, it is not really hard for any artist to reach the audience. So, because of internet, the song reaches to the audience and if it is good, then it does not matter if it's a film song or a non-film song."
