Coronavirus: Indian security officer Sonali Thakkar's father requests govt to deport his daughter

Mumbai, Feb 15 (ANI): Father of Indian Security Officer Sonali Thakkar, who is stuck on Diamond Princess ship in Japan amid coronavirus outbreak, requested government to deport his daughter from the ship. "I request government to deport my daughter from the ship. She has tested negative for coronavirus. Government of Japan is doing its best, but all non-infected Indians should be deported," said father of Sonali Thakkar. Meanwhile, Embassy of India in Japan informed that health conditions of 3 Indians being treated for COVID-19 have improved and no new cases of infection of Indians on the ship. The Diamond Princess, a British cruise ship docked at Yokohoma in Japan, is currently under quarantine amid a rampant rise in coronavirus cases aboard.

CM Rupani orders strict action against Bhuj institute strip checking case

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Feb 15 (ANI): 68 female students of Shree Sahajanand Girls Institute in Gujarat's Bhuj were asked to remove their innerwear to prove they were not menstruating. Speaking on the grave incident, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that strict actions have been ordered to home and education department. He said, "Government has taken the incident very seriously and issued orders to home department and education department to take strict action. FIR was lodged yesterday." The Dean of the institution on February 14 claimed that everything happened with girls' permission.

RBI gives growth projection of 6% for next year

New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das informed that they have given growth projection of 6% for the next year, which is in line with Economic Survey projection. "Monetary Policy Framework is in operation for the last 3 years. Internally, we are reviewing and analysing how the MPC framework has worked. At an appropriate time, if required, we'll have dialogue and discussion with the government. At the moment it is under review within RBI," governor further said. He made this statement while addressing the press conference with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman post RBI Central Board of Directors' meeting.
