The document was released in the presence of Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Prakash Javadekar, Harsh Vardhan and Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari. Addressing media persons Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said that main issues in Delhi are air and water pollution. It will be BJP's priority to tackle water and air pollution.

Slowdown in Indian economy is partly because global economy slowing down: CEA

New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): Chief Economic Advisor Krishnamurthy Subramanian informed that this year Economic Survey's theme is wealth creation. "Economic Survey's theme this year is wealth creation. We have a slowdown in the Indian economy, part of it is because of the global economy slowing down in 2019," said CEA Krishnamurthy Subramanian. Economic Survey 2020 was tabled today by Nirmala Sitharaman on the first day of the Budget session of the Parliament. Economic Survey projects economic growth at 6% to 6.5% in 2020-21.

Jamia shooter: Miscreant is a juvenile, informs manager of Jewar Public School

Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 31 (ANI): Jamia shooter fired bullet during anti-CAA protest on January 30. Speaking to ANI, on his education and his date of birth, manager of Jewar Public School informed that miscreant is a juvenile. "The mark-sheet is absolutely genuine, he has passed CBSE exam in 2018. His date of birth is April 2002, which is correct. He is a juvenile," said manager of Jewar Public School. An unknown man brandishing gun was seen during anti-CAA protest march called by Jamia Coordination Committee on January 30.

Farrukhabad hostage case: Explosive found by bomb disposal squad

Farrukhabad (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 31 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Police's bomb disposal squad found explosive at a house in Farrukhabad, where 23 kids were kept in hostage. One pistol and bullets were also found during search operation. Children kept as hostage at a house in Farrukhabad on January 30. While the children were rescued, the accused Subhash Batham was killed in the ensuing police encounter.

Jammu encounter: Driver, conductor arrested, questioning is underway, informs JandK DGP

Nagrota (Jammu), Jan 31 (ANI): Three terrorists were gunned down by the security forces in the encounter on Jammu-Srinagar Highway. Speaking on it, DGP Dilbag Singh informed that a driver, conductor have been arrested and questioning is underway. Coronavirus outbreak: Air India to send 'special' flight to evacuate Indians from China's Wuhan

New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): Keeping in view of coronavirus, Air India is sending a 'special' flight to China on January 31. Atleast 400 Indians will be evacuated today from Wuhan in China. Speaking on it CMD of Air India, Ashwani Lohani said, "Air India has always come forward for the nation. Atleast 400 Indians will be evacuated today from Wuhan in China by Air India flight. It will take off at 12 pm today and will return by 2 am tomorrow. Further arrangements will be done by MEA and Health Ministry for passengers after they will reach India."

Equity indices in green ahead of Economic Survey

New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices were in the green during early hours on January 31 amid positive global cues while investors awaited key macroeconomic data to be announced in the Economic Survey. At 10:15 am, the BSE SandP Sensex was up by 89 points to 41,003 while the Nifty 50 ticked up by 8 points at 12,044. Most sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the green except for Nifty IT and metal which slipped marginally. Among stocks, Kotak Mahindra Bank gained by 3.7 per cent at Rs 1,688.35 per share. IndusInd Bank and Yes Bank too moved up by 2.2 per cent and 1.5 per cent respectively. The other prominent gainers were Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, Mahindra and Mahindra, Bharti Infratel and Britannia. However, Tata Motors dropped by 3.8 per cent after company's consolidated net profit for the December quarter stood at Rs 1,738 crore against a loss of Rs 26,993 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Copies of Economic Survey reach Parliament

New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): Ahead of the commencement of the Budget Session, copies of Economic Survey 2019-20 reached the Parliament complex on January 31. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present it later today. Sitharaman will present her second Union Budget on Saturday. The Budget Session will commence with an address by President Ram Nath Kovind to a joint sitting of the two Houses of Parliament. President Kovind will deliver a speech in the Central Hall of Parliament at 11 am. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will also chair a meeting of floor leaders of Rajya Sabha at his residence today. The first phase of the session will conclude on February 11, while the second part of the session will begin from March 2 and will end on April 3.

Jammu encounter: 3 terrorists killed, search operation underway

Jammu, Jan 31 (ANI): Truck bound terrorists fired on police which triggered an encounter at Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Jan 31. Three terrorists have been killed in the encounter. The encounter is underway and more details are awaited. Giving details on the encounter, Inspector General of Jammu Police, Mukesh Singh said, "Around 5 am, police stopped a truck for checking, the militants hidden inside started shooting. One police personnel was also injured. He is shifted to hospital. Area has been cordoned off and search operation is on."

Chandigarh University student invented 'magical' gloves for specially-abled people to communicate

Mohali (Punjab), Jan 31 (ANI): A student from Chandigarh University came up with a unique idea to help specially-abled people to communicate. Sarthak invented a microcontroller based 'magical' gloves for those people who can't speak or hear. These gloves can be connected to an android app. By using these battery operated gloves, one can send customized messages to their dear ones. The special thing about these gloves is that with the help of two fingers one can send distress signal for help to the loved ones. "These gloves can be built in around 300 rupees and one won't be in need to write their messages on paper," Sarthak told ANI.

1 elephant dies, another hurt as speeding truck hits them in Odisha's Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal (Odisha), Jan 31 (ANI): One elephant died and another was seriously injured after the two were hit by a speeding truck in Odisha's Dhenkanal district. They were being hit on National Highway-55 in Dhenkanal on January 30. The truck driver is absconding in the incident. The mishap occurred when a herd of elephants was crossing the national highway. The injured elephant ran away into the forest after being hit by the truck. Movement of vehicular traffic was disrupted on NH-55 as several vehicles remained stranded on both sides as hundreds of people gathered at the spot.

Injured Jamia student shifted to AIIMS trauma centre: Police

New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in the national capital on January 30, the DCP of South-East Delhi, Chinmoy Biswal, spoke on firing in Jamia area. He said, "At around 01:30 pm in the afternoon, we saw a man and our team were deployed there and before they could react he opened fired on one of the protestors. Police ran and overpowered him and simultaneously the injured student was also taken to Holy Family Hospital." "I met him (injured student) and also asked doctor about his health conditions. He has now been shifted to AIIMS trauma centre," DCP Biswal added. A man brandished a country-made pistol and opened fire, injuring a student protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on January 30. The firing took place despite heavy police presence in the area and the man was later overpowered by protesters. The students were heading from Jamia to Mahatma Gandhi's memorial Rajghat.
