Jehanabad (Bihar), Jan 28 (ANI): Sharjeel Imam, the JNU student on January 28 has been arrested from Bihar's Jehanabad by the Delhi Police. The JNU student had been booked for sedition by police. Imam stoked controversy with his "cut off Assam from India" remark. Jehanabad Police had detained Sharjeel's younger brother Muzammil Imam in the wee hours. The Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Sunday booked Sharjeel for his controversial speech that he allegedly made a few days ago.
Mumbai, Jan 28 (ANI): After a woman put allegation of harassment against dancer and choreographer Ganesh Acharya, he said that he has never met the woman. Speaking on the allegations, Acharya said, "I will put defamation charges against her. She should be having proof against me. I have never met the woman, she has never come to the office neither I have worked with her. I will take this matter to the court."

The result was that thousands of innocents died due to terrorism. People were forced to even migrate from there," said PM Modi during NCC rally at Cariappa Parade Ground.

New Delhi, Jan 28 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices were flat during early hours on Tuesday as investors globally grappled to assess the economic impact of China's new coronavirus. At 10:15 am, the BSE S-P Sensex was up by 21 points to 41,174 while the Nifty 50 edged lower by 3 points at 12,116. Sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were mixed with Nifty IT, FMCG and metal in the red. Among stocks, HDFC gained by 2.8 per cent to Rs 2,463 per share after reporting a four-fold jump in its Q3 net profit at Rs 8.372 crore due to the one-time gain from the merger of Bandhan Bank with Gruh Finance. The other prominent gainers were Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Hero MotoCorp, Mahindra and Mahindra and UPL. However, Power Grid Corporation, Nestle India, Vedanta, JSW Steel and Coal India were in the negative terrain.
