Maha assembly elections: Rajnath Singh conducts roadshow in Mumbai

Mumbai, Oct 15 (ANI): Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly Elections, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh conducted roadshow in Mumbai on October 14. He held the roadshow in Mumbai's Goregaon area. Defence Minister also campaigned for some of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates in Mumbai. The elections for the 288 Assembly seats in Maharashtra will be held at 96,661 polling stations on October 21. The results of the election will be declared on October 24.

Nuh (Haryana), Oct 14 (ANI): Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on October 14 addressed a public gathering in Haryana's Nuh ahead of the assembly elections in the state. Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that the Prime Minister is a loudspeaker of business conglomerates Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. "He talks about them the entire day. You can see the state of economy today. After 6 months, you will notice the unemployment. You will see the unemployment in India," said Gandhi. The assembly elections will be held in Haryana and Maharashtra on October 21 and results will be announced three days later.

Delhi CM requests state govts to take measures as air quality is deteriorating

New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, while addressing the press, requested state governments to take measures as Delhi's air quality is deteriorating. "In the last 4 months, Delhi's air quality has been in 'Good' category. The smoke coming from outside is increasing pollution levels again. Request all state governments to also take measures. Researches and media reports state pollution levels to increase from last week-Oct to mid-Nov," said Delhi CM.

LS, Assembly seats will be reserved for tribal communities in JandK: JP Nadda

Nandurbar (Maharashtra), Oct 14 (ANI): BJP Working President JP Nadda in Maharashtra while addressing a public gathering in poll-bound Maharashtra promised that in the near future seats will be reserved for people from tribal communities in Lok Sabha. "JandK doesn't mean only Baramulla and Sopore but extends from Zanskar to Udhampur. People from Gujjars and Bakerwal tribal communities staying in border areas of Poonch, Rajouri and Udhampur are 'Rashtra-bhakts' they help security forces in protecting the nation," JP Nadda said. He added, "But the three families who did politics in Jammu and Kashmir never reserved a seat for the tribal community in the state assembly. Now, people from tribal communities will reach Lok Sabha and Gujjar and Bakerwal will reach the state assembly."

HAL workers launch countrywide indefinite strike over wage revision

Bengaluru, Oct 14 (ANI): All India Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Trade Unions Co-ordination Committee on Monday started its indefinite strike for 'fair and early settlement of wage revision of the employees'. They are making efforts to avert strike at all of its 9 locations across the country over 'wage settlement 2017'. Speaking to ANI, General Secretary of Hindustan Aeronautics Employees Association (HAEA) Suryadevara Chandrashekhar said, "The HAL executives have taken a gross hike of 35 per cent and 110 per cent to 140 per cent in perks and we are just demanding parity."

RBI Governor assured me to resolve PMC bank scam matter at earliest: FM Sitharaman

The RBI repeatedly has assured me, even today the Governor has assured me that he'll keep the interest of customers in mind and at the earliest try to resolve it as he goes on. Accused in ISIS cases admitted they got radicalized by videos of Sri Lanka bombing mastermind: NIA

New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): National Investigation Agency (NIA) Inspector General Alok Mittal on October 14 said that in three cases related to Agency's ISIS cases, the cases accused have admitted that they were radicalised by Sri Lanka bombing mastermind Zahran Hashim's videos. The three cases were from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. "Hashim as we know is the mastermind of the Easter day bombings in Sri Lanka," said Mittal.

FM Sitharaman assures MSMEs to get due amount before this Diwali

New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): Union Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman met Chief Managing Directors (CMDs) of Public Sector in Delhi on October 14. She reviewed the fund flow to stressed MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) sector. While speaking to CMDs, Sitharaman assured Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that their due amount, owned by other companies will be cleared before this Diwali. She said, "The Corporate Affairs Ministry has a complete list of companies which stated that they owe MSMEs nearly Rs 40,000 crores. Secretary corporate affairs and Secretary banking will ensure that the data, in desegregated form, is given to these banks. The banks then shall make an attempt to approach all of these MSMEs and ask them if want a bill discounting because that is openly claimed by the companies. Postpaid mobile services resume in Srinagar, locals hail decision

Srinagar, Oct 14 (ANI): Postpaid mobile services have finally been restored in Srinagar on October 14. Locals can now easily connect with the near and dear ones. The decision to resume the services was taken after reviewing the situation in the Valley as per told by Principal Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Rohit Kansal. One of the locals said, "We had faced problems in these 70 days. We were not able to connect with our brothers who live far away from us. We were incomplete without the phones." Other local said, "We are really happy that mobile services have finally resumed as we were not able to connect with our loved ones." All network and landline connections were suspended across Jammu and Kashmir on August 05 after abrogation of Article 370.

Sitharaman said, "In this particular interaction with the bankers, there was a presentation given by Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) who showed based on the Monetary Policy Committee data from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on where the credit flows are happening, where the credit flow is getting congested."
