Barmer tent collapse: CM Gehlot orders enquiry, says action will be taken accordingly

Barmer (Rajasthan), June 24 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today reached the spot in Barmer where a 'pandaal' collapsed on June 23 claiming lives of 15 people. The CM had yesterday announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the kin of deceased and Rs 2 lakh to the injured. While speaking on this incident, Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot said, "We have ordered an inquiry into the incident. Action will be taken based on the inquiry report".

BJP, RSS have created sense of hatred for Muslims in this country: Asaduddin Owaisi

New Delhi, Jun 24 (ANI): All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi reacted on the recent incident of Jharkhand man beaten by mob for hours and made to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' and later died. While speaking to ANI, Owaisi said, "These kind of cases of mob lynching will never stop because BJP, RSS and other such kind of organisations have created a sense of hatred for Muslims in this country. Whoever (Muslim) they see, they see him as terrorist or a cow slaughter or anti-national. So, they have successfully created this kind of mindset. We are continuously asking them to stop these kinds of incidents but they always say that Muslims need to be deradicalized."

7-year-old visually impaired girl murdered in Delhi, accused arrested

New Delhi, June 24 (ANI): Police have arrested a man in Delhi over allegedly murdering a 7-year-old girl today. The girl was visually impaired. The incident took place in Narela Industrial Area. Dead body of the girl was found at the backside of her home. Earlier, police have ruled out the possibility of sexual assault but said that the medical examination report is being awaited to confirm anything in this regard.

Didn't allow tension with Pakistan to dictate our civil aviation, says BS Dhanoa

Gwalior (MP), Jun 24 (ANI): After Pakistan closed their airspace, Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa said, "They (Pakistan) have closed their airspace that is their problem. Our economy is vibrant and air traffic is a very important part and you have noticed that Air Force has never stopped our civil air traffic. Only on 27 February (2019), we had stopped Srinagar airspace for 2-3 hours, rest of it we didn't allow tension with Pakistan to dictate our civil aviation because our economy is much bigger and much stronger as compared to theirs."

Balakot air strike: Pakistan didn't come to our airspace, we achieved our military objective, says BS Dhanoa

Gwalior (MP), Jun 24 (ANI): On being asked about Balakot air strike where Pakistani Air Force entered into Indian Territory, Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa said, "Pakistan didn't come to our airspace. Our objective was to strike terror camps and their objective was to target our Army places. We achieved our military objective. None of them crossed the Line of Control into our territory".

IAF commemorates 20 years of Kargil War at Gwalior Air Base

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), Jun 24 (ANI): The Indian Air Force (IAF) commemorated 20 years of Kargil War at Gwalior Air Base today. They recreated Tiger Hill attack and displayed aircraft used during 'Operation Vijay' in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior on the occasion. IAF recreated the attack of Tiger Hills during the event. Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa graced the event as Chief Guest. Serving and retired Kargil War veterans were also present in the event.

People cutting across religious lines take part in 'Tawi Darshan Aarti' in JandK

Udhampur (JandK), Jun 24 (ANI): Bounded by the thread of compassion, tolerance, brotherhood and the feeling of oneness, Dudu village in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir displayed the true signs of communal harmony as the people, irrespective of their castes and religion, gathered on the banks of Tawi River for Tawi Darshan fair. Organised by the Directorate of tourism, Jammu in collaboration with the PEACE organization, the fair began with the grand ceremony of Tawi River that is hailed as the Heavenly Daughter of the Sun God. Though the fair included only the Hindu rituals, people from all communities eagerly participated in it, setting a beautiful example of peace and brotherhood. Apart from religious ceremonies, various cultural events were also organized at this fair which were rejoiced by people of all faiths. DMK holds protest led by MK Stalin against water crisis in Chennai

Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Jun 24 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) held protest in Chepauk area of Chennai. The protest is being staged against the Tamil Nadu government over acute water crisis in the city. DMK president MK Stalin led the demonstration in which he was seen carrying a pot in his hands. Ganga gets a new breath of life in Kanpur city

Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh (ANI) June 24, 2019: Located on the west bank of Ganga River, Kanpur is a densely populated city famous for its leather industries. The city produces an estimated 450 million liters of daily municipal sewage and industrial effluent whose major portion was flowing directly into the holy river until recently. However, with the launch of the Namami Gange Programme that aims to clean and rejuvenate Ganga, the picture changed quickly as 13 out of 16 major drains in Kanpur have been completely tapped and the sewage and industrial effluent has been diverted to Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs). In November 2018, over a century-old Sisamau drain, which produces over 140 MLD of sewage, was completely stopped from discharging sewage into the Ganga. This was the biggest drain-tapping initiative untaken at a cost of over Rs. 60 crore. The sewage has been diverted via pipelines to two sewage treatments plants (STPs) on the outskirts of the city 80 million liters a day

FIR registered against Rahul Gandhi over his 'Yoga Day' tweet

Mumbai, Jun 24 (ANI): Congress president Rahul Gandhi tweeted a picture of Army's dog unit on International Yoga Day and he got backlash from twitteraties for it. The tweet ended up coming across as mocking the armed forces by general understanding. Atal Bihari Dubey, an advocate from Mumbai complained against Gandhi over the tweet. Barmer tent collapse: MoS Kailash Choudhary visits victims in hospital

Barmer (Rajasthan), Jun 24 (ANI): At least 14 people died on Sunday after 'pandaal' collapsed in Rajasthan's Barmer. Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and Barmer Member of Parliament (MP) Kailash Choudhary visited the hospital in Barmer today. He met the injured who are currently receiving medical treatment in the hospital. While speaking to ANI, Kailash Chaudhary said, "The incident is painful. I offer my condolences to the departed souls and their family members. I am in contact with the administration. I have spoken to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The compensation announced by CM has reached the affected." Man beaten on suspicion of theft, dies in Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharsawan

Seraikela-Kharsawan (Jharkhand), Jun 24 (ANI): A 22-year-old man died on Sunday after he was beaten up by locals and later arrested on suspicion of theft in Jharkhand's Saraikela-Kharsawan district. The deceased has been identified as Tabrej. He was admitted to Sadar hospital yesterday morning and then referred to Tata Main Hospital, Jamshedpur. Tabrej's family has, however, alleged that the attack was communal and that he was made to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Jai Hanuman'. While speaking to ANI, Tabrej's relative Maqsood Alam said, "Some locals thrashed Tabrej and later gave him over to the police. He was suspected of theft but it was a communal attack. He was beaten because he had a Muslim name. They made him chant 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Jai Hanuman' again and again. We were not allowed to meet him at the hospital. We have the video of the incident. I demand the culprits be arrested." "We want action against the police personnel who were on duty at that time," another relative told ANI.

Mozilla releases patch to fix another zero-day in Firefox

New Delhi, Jun 24 (ANI): Mozilla has released another update to fix a second zero-day vulnerability in its Firefox browser that was being exploited in the wild. The security loophole was being exploited to attack cryptocurrency organisations including Coinbase, ZDNet reports. The Firefox 67.0.4 and Firefox ESR 60.7.2 versions address what is described as the 'sandbox escape' vulnerability, while the previous versions of the browser were released two days before to patch 'remote code execution' vulnerability.
