Srinagar (JandK), Jun 23 (ANI): At least terrorists were killed in an operation by security forces in Kashmir's Shopian district today morning. While speaking to ANI, Dilbagh Singh, DGP, Jammu and Kashmir Police on today's Shopian encounter said, "It was a successful operation in which 4 militants were neutralised. All of them were sort of IS inspired militants who were commanded by Shaukat Ahmed Butt of the same area. They were wanted in many terror-related crimes." The police have registered a case and requested citizens not to venture inside the encounter zone since such an area can prove dangerous due to stray explosive materials.

Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Jun 23 (ANI): Madurai Corporation is providing RO water 6-days a week to the residents of Madurai's Iravathanallur village. The corporation has issued one coupon per ration card for the distribution of water. Tamil Nadu has been reeling under water crisis in the recent time. Scorching heat and delayed monsoon have further exacerbated the situation.
Patna (Bihar), Jun 23 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) student wing marched to Raj Bhavan, Patna, in protest against state government over health situation in state. Protesters demanded resignation of state Health Minister Mangal Pandey. They also demanded formation of committee to investigate the situation due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and compensation for affected families. The death toll due to AES in Bihar rose to 125 on Sunday. AES is a viral disease that causes flu-like symptoms such as high fever, vomiting and in extreme cases, brain dysfunction, seizure and inflammation of heart and kidney.
Lucknow (UP), June 23 (ANI): Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) Chief Mayawati chaired a meeting with party leaders at her residence in UP's Lucknow. Mobile phones and other belongings of the leaders were not allowed in the meeting. Members of Parliament were also present in the meeting.
Muzaffarnagar (UP), June 23 (ANI): A woman was locked with her 3-year-old daughter in health centre for five hours in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar. One person has been suspended for negligence and other doctors and pharmacists have been transferred. Speaking to media persons, Chief Medical Officer PS Mishra said, "Staff said it totally slipped out of their minds that there was a patient inside and they locked the doors. New Delhi, June 23 (ANI): With less than a year to go for the Assembly polls, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday kick-started AAP's government CCTV cameras installation project in the national capital. The leader asserted that three lakh CCTV cameras will be installed across the national capital in 50 days. While speaking to mediapersons, Sisodia said, "With the increase in crime in Delhi especially against women our government has decided to install CCTV cameras across the city. Project of installing 3 lakh cameras has started."

Hyderabad, June (ANI): In a peculiar but life-threatening act, a man from Telangana climbed an electric pole on Saturday after police brought him to Bachupally police station area to investigate him pertaining to a case of a missing person. The man threatened to commit suicide by hanging from the extra high tension pole. The police managed to deal with the issue and brought him down. He was later handed over to Andhra police.
New Delhi, June 23 (ANI): An elderly couple and their domestic help were found murdered at their residence in Vasant Enclave in Delhi on Sunday. The deceased elderly couple was identified as Vishnu and Shashi Mathur and the domestic help as Khushboo. The police have reached the spot and further investigation is underway. While speaking to ANI, DCP South West, Devendra Arya said, "Prima facie it seems nothing has been looted and it looks like it was friendly entry into the house. Bodies sent for post mortem. Probe is on."
Vikarabad (Telangana), June 23 (ANI): In a heinous act of animal cruelty, a resident in Telangana's Vikarabad has filed complaint alleging that the Municipal Corporation has killed and buried 20 stray dogs in a dump yard. The carcasses of dogs were recovered and taken for post-mortem. The police has been registered FIR under Sec 11 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and Sec 429 (killing animals by mischief) of IPC.
Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Jun 23 (ANI): Superintendent at Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), Sunil Kumar Shahi gave information on the deaths due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES). Speaking to ANI, he said, "Since last evening there has been one death. A total of 109 deaths occurred at the hospital, 225 patients have been discharged. 39 more will be discharged today."
Dehradun (Uttarakhand), June 23 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat announced the setting up of a new recruitment centre for the Maritime Force in Dehradun.Trivendra Singh Rawat told ANI that the total amount of centre is 42 crore, which will be given by Indian Coast Guard to Uttarakhand government. Director General of the Indian Coast Guard, Rajendra Singh said, "This recruitment centre will cover people of four states, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana along with Uttarakhand and Uttra Pradesh.

New Delhi, June 23 (ANI): While addressing students during a felicitation ceremony at Thyagraj Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday, Education Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia said that the Delhi government will cover the mandatory CBSE class 12th board registration fee. It came after a student asked Sisodia about the difference between registration fee of general category and OBC or Scheduled Caste (SC) category for CBSE class 12th board. Manish replied to the student and said that students will no longer have to pay Rs 1,500 to the education board.
Hyderabad, June 23 (ANI): With an aim to curb crime in the state, Telangana Prison Authorities conducted an employment drive for released prisoners in Hyderabad on Saturday. Around 10 companies came forward and participated in the fair. 129 released prisoners have participated in the job fair out of which 81 prisoners got placements. They are also trying to provide the employment to other released prisoners who have not been selected. While speaking to ANI, Founder and Director of TT Hub Management, Chakradhar said, "We are very happy and humble to provide best career opportunities to the ex-convicts who are willing and having zeal to work and change themselves."
