In a major victory for the MK Stalin-led Tamil Nadu government, the Supreme Court ruled today that Governor RN Ravi’s move to withhold assent to 10 Bills was ‘illegal’, ‘arbitrary’, and made in ‘bad faith’. The DMK had moved the court in October 2023 over delays in clearing numerous state-passed legislation.
