Mumbai, May 10 (ANI): Some 243 Indian passengers arrived at the Mumbai airport via a special flight from Singapore amid the coronavirus pandemic. Under the 'Vande Bharat Mission', Indian government is bringing back stranded Indian nationals from abroad. The passengers get screened both at departure and arrival to restrict the spread of coronavirus. Meanwhile, Mumbai, where the 243 passengers landed, is the worst-hit city in India with over 12,500 cases of coronavirus reported so far.
Mumbai, May 10 (ANI): Former chief minister of Maharashtra and leader of Opposition, Devendra Fadnavis, on Sunday appealed to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led government to give permission for 7 trains to carry migrant labourers from Mumbai to West Bengal. He said, "Permission for 7 trains to carry migrant labourers from Mumbai to West Bengal has been sought from West Bengal government, but not even one permission has been granted. I appeal to Mamata didi to give permission as soon as possible." Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah wrote a letter to CM Banerjee that the centre is not receiving expected support from Bengal government over movement of stranded migrants.
Gurugram (Haryana), May 10 (ANI): In the view of COVID-19 pandemic, salons reopened in several parts of India in green and orange zones. A barber shop in Haryana's Gurugram is using PPE kits while working. The owner of the shop is taking all precautionary measures to curb the spread of COVID-19. "Workers are taking all safety measures. They are using PPE kits; every salon should implement this process," a customer said. "People should not fear we are taking all safety measures here. We are sanitising and disinfecting our salon properly, the salon owner said. As per the guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) salons allowed to open in green and orange zones.
Lucknow (UP), May 10 (ANI): Number of active coronavirus cases has reached 1884 in Uttar Pradesh and 1504 people have been recovered, informed Principal Secretary (Health), Amit Mohan Prasad. "1884 active cases of COVID-19 are at present in Uttar Pradesh. The total numbers of people who have been cured and discharged are 1504," said Prasad.
Amritsar (Punjab), May 10 (ANI): Over 1180 people, mainly migrant labourers will depart from Amritsar Railway Station on May 10. Thermal screening of passengers is being done before they boarded a 'Shramik Special' train. 'Shramik Special' train will depart from Amirtsar to Bihar's Barauni.
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), May 10 (ANI): Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a video-conferencing with the women in the state on the occasion of Mother's Day on May 10. New Delhi, May 10 (ANI): Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan inspected a Covid care centre in Delhi's Mandoli area on May 10. While speaking to media persons, he said, "There are 4362 Covid care centres across the country where 346856 patients with mild or very mild symptoms can be kept. No case of COVID-19 has been reported in 10 states/union territories in the last 24 hours. Four states/union territories never reported any case of COVID-19. Central Govt has sent 72 lakh N95 face masks and 36 lakh PPE kits to the states so far."
New Delhi, May 10 (ANI): Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal on May 10 briefed the details of COVID-19 situation in the national capital. He said the latest reports show that 82 percent of the people who have lost their lives were above the age of 50. "We are seeing that there are more deaths among elderly people," he added. Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Delhi stands at 6542, which includes 73 deaths so far.
New Delhi, May 10 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that majority of COVID-19 cases in Delhi are "mild" or "asymptomatic". He said, "Out of roughly 7000 positive cases in Delhi, approximately 1500 are in hospital. Out of these 1500 cases, only 27 are on ventilators. Majority of cases are mild or asymptomatic." According to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the total number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital stands at 6542.
Chhatarpur (MP), May 10 (ANI): A 'Shramik Special train' with 1190 passengers onboard reached Chhatarpur Railway Station on May 10 from Delhi. Special arrangements have been made for the checkups and testing of the passengers. Indian Railways on May 1 started Shramik Special trains to move migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and others stranded at different places due to lockdown.
Chittoor (Andhra Pradesh), May 10 (ANI): A large number of migrant workers held protest demanding to return to their native places amid COVID-19 lockdown. The migrant workers hail from West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. The workers alleged that no arrangements have been made for their return in the last 40 days of lockdown.

Amritsar (Punjab), May 10 (ANI): Amid coronavirus lockdown, around 305 Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) departed for United Kingdom on May 10. The NRIs departed from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar. The UK citizens left in a special British Airways flight. The total number of COVID-19 cases in India crossed 62,500-mark. "My flight was cancelled because of COVID-19. I really appreciate to the British Government that they arranged flights for us," a NRI said. "Because of lockdown, we have to stay here a bit longer. We thank British Government for taking us back," another NRI said.

Bhopal (MP), May 10 (ANI): Over 350 Kashmiri students stranded in parts of Madhya Pradesh are about to reach their native places by buses. They stranded in MP due to the lockdown to curb the spread of COVID-19. The buses consisting of Kashmiri students left Bhopal on May 9 evening. The students will return to their homes in 18 AC buses from Bhopal. They thanked the MP government for arranging the busses for them.
Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), May 10 (ANI): The travel and tourism industry has badly hit by COVID-19 pandemic. An hotelier in Shimla, Chander Mohan Sharma said, "Business is almost zero right now. I don't think the business will flourish in next 5-6 months. We still need to give salary to our staff and pay the bills."
Guwahati (Assam), May 10 (ANI): The ferry boat services have re-started from May 07 at the Brahmaputra river in Guwahati amid the coronavirus lockdown. The boat services have been started in order to facilitate the movement of people and transportation of goods. The services were closed till now due to the nationwide lockdown."The services were closed since the lockdown was imposed, they opened on May -07 following government guidelines," said Dilip Kumar Ghosh from Inland Water Transport Department. Only 50 per cent of the people as compared to full strength earlier are allowed on the boats. Those without face masks aren't given tickets.

However, some people are facing problem over guidelines of quarantine. A local how's son was living in London, said that he is several problems as they are not allowed to quarantine his son at their home.
Moradabad (UP), May 10 (ANI): Amid nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of COVID-19, Moradabad Police and Rapid Action Force (RAF) joined hands to help the needy. The Moradabad police and RAF personnel contributed their salaries to buy ration for the residents of slum areas. The distributed packages included ration, soaps, masks, vegetables and other items. Lockdown has been extended till May 17 to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Puri (Odisha), May 10 (ANI): The construction work of chariots for Puri Rath Yatra has begun amid coronavirus lockdown. The 9-day festival is scheduled to start from June 23. Administrator (Development) Officer of Jagannath Temple Administration, Ajay Jena said, "72 workers are making chariots for Puri Rath Yatra. Centre has given approval for construction, with conditions." "In order to prevent mingling of 'rath sevaks' with their families, the temple administration has decided to keep them in three 'bhakt nivas' of the temple," Ajay Jena further said.
