COVID-19 lockdown: No order to open salons and liquor shops, says MHA Joint Secy

New Delhi, Apr 25 (ANI): Joint Secretary Ministry of Home Affairs Punya Salila Srivastava informed that no order has been given to open salons and liquor shops. "Hair salons and barber shops render services. Our order is applicable on shops which deal in sale of items. There is no order to open barber shops and hair salons. There is no order to open liquor shops too," said Srivastava. She also added that new orders of MHA stated that there is no order to open restaurants of any kind. "As per the new orders of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) there is no order to open restaurants, no order to open any kind of restaurant," said Srivastava after government allowed standalone and neighbourhood shops to open.

COVID-19: Received orders to not issue hard-copy of passes, says GautamBuddha Nagar CMO

Noida (UP), Apr 25 (ANI): GautamBuddha Nagar Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Deepak Ohri reacted on orders to issue hard-copy of passes. He said, "We've received orders to not issue hard-copy of passes. Attachment issued by us, your photo and document on company's letterhead proving place of occupation can be mailed at cmogbnr@gmail.com. If papers are valid, we'll issue pass. If invalid, we'll inform sender." "All doctors, paramedics on COVID-19 duty and those working in government institutes are allowed to have passes. If their documents meet our parameters, we will issue pass to them," he added.

Commercial Aircraft standstill at Delhi Airport as COVID-19 adversely hits aviation industry

New Delhi, Apr 25 (ANI): Global airline industry is battling to survive the COVID-19 pandemic. Commercial aircrafts are parked at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport due to the ongoing nationwide lockdown. The Center is worried about the health of the people even after the pandemic that is why it is not lifting the restrictions on domestic and international flights. Civil Aviation Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri said that restrictions on domestic and international flights will be lifted when the government is confident that spread of coronavirus has been controlled, and poses no danger to Indians. The commercial flights are facing deeper loses because of the lockdown due to pandemic. Domestic and international passenger flight operations have been suspended across the country till May 03.

"We have administered plasma therapy to 6 patients in Delhi, so far. 4 patients were given the therapy four days back. Those who were administered 4 days back have almost recovered. All of them were critical patients and results are very encouraging."

Gujarat govt yet to decide on re-opening of shops in urban areas

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Apr 25 (ANI): In an order issued on April 24, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has allowed shops to open from April 25 onwards. Reacting on the MHA's order, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel on Saturday said that the implementation of MHA's decision in urban areas will be taken after the meeting with the CM which will be held in afternoon. He said, "We'll easily implement the decision to open shops in rural areas. But as far as implementation in urban areas is concerned, we'll do it as per conditions in Centre's notification. A meeting, chaired by CM, will be held in afternoon and decision to be taken after discussion."The MHA statement also stated that the order applies only to the local shops registered with the municipal corporation.

COVID-19: SpiceJet freighter carrying medical supplies from China landed in Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 25 (ANI): A SpiceJet freighter carrying COVID-19 medical supplies from China's Shanghai landed in Delhi on the night of April 24. The aircraft carried approximately 18 tons of medical and emergency supplies. SpiceJet is country's biggest air cargo operator. Country has 18668 active coronavirus cases and 775 people have lost their lives till now.

COVID-19: IAF transports over 20 tonnes of medical supplies to North-East India

New Delhi, Apr 25 (ANI): In wake of COVID-19 pandemic, an IL-76 plane of Indian Air Force (IAF) carrying around 22 tonnes load of medical supplies took off from Delhi Airport to North-East India on April 25. "All surfaces in the aircraft are wiped to ensure they are disinfected. Our crew members have also put on masks and gloves to ensure that we stay away from any infection," said IAF Official.

COVID-19: Shops selling non-essential goods open after MHA's decision

Varanasi (UP)/ New Delhi, Apr 25 (ANI): After Centre's decision to permitted shops selling non-essential goods and services to reopen from April 25, some shops in Delhi's Laxmi Nagar and Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi were seen open after a month. After MHA issues order to reopen shops, people buy essential items in Mumbai
