Equity indices in the green ahead of RBI monetary policy

New Delhi, Feb 06 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices advanced during early hours on Thursday ahead of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) meeting to decide on key interest rates. While several market experts expect the status quo in benchmark rates, some hoped for a cut. At 10:15 am, the BSE S and P Sensex was up by 100 points to 41,243 while the Nifty 50 gained 34 points at 12,123. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the positive zone with Nifty metal up by 1.3 per cent and pharma by 1.2 per cent.

Coronavirus effect: Chinese nationals attend Auto Expo with mask on

Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 06 (ANI): The 15th edition of Auto Expo 2020 once again made a grand entry at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. But due to novel coronavirus, a number of Chinese nationals at the Auto Expo were seen wearing masks. Speaking on coronavirus impact, Director of Sales and Marketing of Great Wall Motors, HS Brar said, "A big delegation was supposed to come from China but we cancelled their trip. Interaction of Chinese colleagues with public has been reduced."

6 injured in clash between BJP and TMC in WB's Asansol

Asansol (West Bengal), Feb 06 (ANI): Six people including one female were injured in a political clash between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers over construction of a BJP office in West Bengal's Asansol. BJP workers alleged that TMC workers had come to the spot and stopped the work while latter group counter-alleged that BJP hadn't obtained permission from Panchayat for the construction. The incident took place on February 05.The injured people were sent to Asansol District Hospital for treatment. Getting the news, cops of Salanpur Police station had been to the spot and are investigating into the matter.

Air quality improves a bit in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 06 (ANI): Air quality of the national capital improved on February 06. According to Air Quality Index (AQI), PM 2.5 was at 176 in 'moderate' category and PM 10 at 209 in 'poor' category near Lodhi Road. Moreover, with moderate temperature, Delhiites got a little bit relief from the cold weather.

Coronavirus impacts diamond exports in Surat

Surat (Gujarat), Feb 06 (ANI): The anti-government protests in Hong Kong and the US-China trade war has already impacted the polished diamond exports from India and now the outbreak of deadly coronavirus is expected to decrease the overall exports. China is the world's second largest diamond jewellery market after United States. The outbreak of coronavirus will impact consumer demand, resulting in decline in export of polished diamonds. Diamantaires in Surat says that Coronavirus outbreak in China and Hong Kong will affect their business, and have a negative impact on the diamond industry of India and bring them a loss of around Rs 8,000-10,000 crore in the next two months. The spread of Coronavirus in China and across the world is making the diamantaires of Surat worried. They aren't as frightened for the infection itself than they are from the prospect of exports of polished diamond getting hit by the outbreak.

Bengaluru, Feb 06 (ANI): A shop owner has started a unique initiative to keep the environment clean in Bengaluru's Malleshwaram by selling juice in fruit shells. The juice shop named 'Eat Raja' offers juice in the particular fruit shell to avoid any wastage. Apart from the juice in fruit shell, shop also offers free juice to encourage people to quit smoking in the view of the clean environment. People who bring their own steel cups to prevent the use of plastic get a discount and can drink juice in Rs 20 only.

Ganesh Acharya should go to jail: Victim choreographer

Mumbai, Feb 06 (ANI): Woman choreographer who was allegedly harassed by Indian choreographer Ganesh Acharya demanded justice. She also stated that Ganesh Acharya has been misusing his power. "I want justice; I want Ganesh Acharya to go to jail. He should be boycotted from the industry. He has been misusing his power," said the victim. Mumbai Police has booked Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Acharya on charges of sexually harassing a woman choreographer. He was booked after a 33-year-old female choreographer accused him of depriving her of work and forcing her to watch adult videos. The girl had filed complaint against Ganesh Acharya at Mumbai's Amboli Police Station on January 28.

Instagram now lets you reply to Stories with GIFs

Instagram made the announcement through an official tweet, saying users can reply to their friends' Stories using GIFs by GIPHY. Nirbhaya case: All convicts will be hanged together, says Delhi HC

New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): Nirbhaya's Mother Asha Devi, welcomed the Delhi High Court's decision to dismiss the Centre's plea challenging trial court order which had stayed the execution of all 4 convicts. Court said death warrant against all 4 convicts can't be executed separately. "I welcome Delhi High Court's verdict. It gives all 4 convicts 1 week to resort to all legal remedies available to them. After this, the convicts should be hanged soon," said Asha Devi. Delhi High Court observed that Delhi prison rules do not state that if mercy petition of one convict is pending, the execution of the other convicts can take place.
