Priyanka Gandhi arrives at AIIMS to meet injured JNU students, professors

New Delhi, Jan 06 (ANI): Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra arrived at AIIMS Trauma Centre where 18 people from Jawaharlal Nehru University have been admitted following violence at the university. Several masked goons allegedly entered the JNU campus and injured the students and professors including JNUSU president. They also caused destruction to the property. Security was tightened at the campus soon after the incident.

Situation inside JNU campus is normal: Delhi Police

New Delhi, Jan 06 (ANI): Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Devender Arya on attack on students at JNU campus in Delhi, informed that the situation inside campus is normal and police deployment has been done at strategic points."The situation inside the campus is normal. Extensive flag march conducted by police. All hostel areas have been secured. Police deployment has been done at strategic points. At present, no violence is reported from any part of the campus," said Devender Arya."Today evening, a fight occurred between two groups in which few students were injured and property was damaged. JNU Administration requested police to enter University to restore peace," he added further.

College students in Mumbai protest in solidarity with JNU students

Mumbai, Jan 06 (ANI): After violence in Jawaharlal Nehru University campus, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay students took out protest march in solidarity with JNU students. Students of several colleges gathered at Gateway of India to demonstrate. Several students including JNUSU president got injured after they were assaulted by masked goons inside campus. Will not pursue executive chairmanship of Tata Sons: Cyrus Mistry

People gear up for 'Jallikattu' in AP's Chittoor
