This differently-abled student's dedication for cricket 'warmed' Sachin Tendulkar's heart

Dantewada (Chhattisgarh), Jan 03 (ANI): A differently-abled class 7 student has attracted the attention of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, and the reason is former's dedication for the sport despite the physical limitations he has. Madda Ram Kawasi hails from Naxal-hit Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh, and is playing cricket for last two years. Tendulkar had tweeted a video in which Madda was seen playing cricket, and told his followers to start their new year with the "inspirational video".

Infant death toll in Kota hospital rise to 103

Kota (Rajasthan), Jan 03 (ANI): Three more children died in the JK Lon Hospital in Rajasthan's Kota on the first two days of the New Year. All the three children died during the treatment. The death toll has now reached 103 since December last year.

The BSE S-P Sensex closed 321 points up at 41,627 while the Nifty 50 edged higher by 100 points at 12,283. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the green with Nifty metal shoring up by 2.68 per cent, bank by 1.04 per cent and realty by 0.92 per cent.

"There was a time in the country, when one rupee was sent for the poor and farmers, but only 15 paisa used to reach them and rest 85 paise was consumed by middlemen. Today, all the money that is sent from Delhi is deposited in the farmers' account," said PM Modi.
