Mumbai, Oct 31 (ANI): A delegation from Shiv Sena met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan on October 31. The delegation included Aditya Thackeray, Ramdas Kadam and Eknath Shinde. They met the Governor seeking prompt financial aid for farmers hit by untimely rains. Speaking on the meeting, Thackeray said, "We requested Governor to provide assistance to farmers and fishermen who suffered damages due to recent rains. He has assured us that he himself will talk to the Centre."

Chhath 'Mahaparv': Arrangements will be made for safety and protection of devotees, says Nitish Kumar

Patna (Bihar), Oct 31 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on October 31 inspected the different ghats in the wake of upcoming Chhath 'Mahaparv.' He said that the preparations are almost done but he also added that people shouldn't expect the ghats like previous year. Total 2, 160 doctors have returned to work till now, informs TN Health Minister C Vijayabaskar

Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Oct 31 (ANI): Government doctors have continued their strike in Tamil Nadu. They are demanding an increase in their salaries and post-graduate admission quota in medical education. Speaking on doctors' strike, Health Minister of Tamil Nadu, C Vijayabaskar said, "In Tamil Nadu's government service, 16,475 doctors are in position. So far, our honorable Chief Minister had given them the invitation to drop the strike and kindly join the service. After the announcement, total 2, 160 doctors have returned to work till now." He further said, "Definitely, we will consider them. Definitely, doctors should be patient-friendly and government should be doctor-friendly."

Justice delivery system is good, might require some minor changes: CJI Designate Bobde

New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): Chief Justice of India (CJI) designate Sharad Arvind Bobde on Thursday said that the justice delivery system is good in India, it might require some minor changes, including the use of technology like artificial intelligence. He said, "It's a good system, you need to use some other things. There are long term measures and short term measures. Long term measures are legal education, and short term measures are better staffing, better arrangements." Justice Bobde, will become the 47th CJI on November 18 succeeding Justice Ranjan Gogoi.

'Khaki Files' a book by Neeraj Kumar, Former Delhi Police Chief released

New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): The author of the bestselling book 'Dial D for Don: Inside Stories of CBI Missions' has yet come up with his second book 'Khaki Files-Inside Stories of Police Investigations.' The former Justice of Supreme Court Madan B. Lokur released this book in a programme organized at Constitutional Club at New Delhi. The book is the compilation of many high-profile cases of his career as an IPS officer. He also revisited many more cases which includes December 13 2001 Attack on Indian Parliament and a case of 23-year-old Physiotherapist who was brutally gang-raped in the moving bus in Delhi in December 16 2012.

Watch: Raid on Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's compound by US troops

Washington (US), Oct 31 (ANI): The United States Military has released a video of raid in Northern Syria in which the Islamic State (IS) group leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was nutralised. The video shows the troops firing at militants on the ground as they flew towards the compound in which the IS leader was hiding. After the raid, the compound was destroyed with munitions. The head of US Central Command, Gen Kenneth McKenzie briefed the media about the whole operation by showing the video.
