New Delhi, Oct 06 (ANI): Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar was elected unopposed as the JD(U) national president for the second consecutive time on October 06. While speaking to ANI, JDU's national election officer, Anil Hegde said, "On 4th October, Nitish Kumar submitted his nomination for the national president's post. Today, I declare him as the party's national president. He has been elected unopposed as the president for a period of 3 years."

Wife of slain IAF Squadron leader Nirmal Khanna thanks Govt to include his name on the NWM

Jammu, Oct 06 (ANI): Wife of slain IAF Squadron Leader Ravi Khanna, Nirmal Khanna thanked central government to include his name on the National War Memorial in New Delhi. Indian Air Force (IAF) approved the case to include the name of Squadron Leader Ravi Khanna on the National War Memorial in New Delhi. "What else can a soldier long for? When a soldier wears uniform, he knows it's a coffin. I am thankful to Indian Air Force and central government," said wife of Squadron Leader Ravi Khanna.The Squadron Leader, along with three IAF personnel, were killed on January 25, 1990, in a terror attack by the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF). It is alleged that separatist leader Yasin Malik had killed Ravi Khanna in the terror attack.

Double Decker train coaches derailed in UP's Moradabad

Patna floods: JD(U) seeks clarification from BJP after Giriraj Singh accuses CM Nitish of mismanagement

Durga Puja: Surgical Strike themed tableau made at pandal in Bhopal

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Oct 06 (ANI): A large-size tableau is being presented at a Durga Puja pandal in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal. It has the theme of surgical strike along with Balakot airstrike and Pulwama terrorist attack. In the tableau, mannequins of terrorists and Indian Army soldiers can be seen firing their guns at each other. Some terrorists dressed in black clothes are depicted to be attacking the soldiers. The terrorists are eventually killed in the tableau after a soldier aboard a helicopter kills the terrorists through an 'airstrike'. While speaking to ANI, Sarvajanik Durga Utsav Samiti organiser Inderjeet Kapoor said, "Our 40 soldiers were martyred in a terrorist attack in Pulwama. Indian forces had carried out a surgical strike and airstrike in Pakistan. This tableau is a tribute to our forces."

Pakistani woman gets Indian citizenship after 35 years of marriage

Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 06 (ANI): A woman hailing from Pakistan and married to an Indian citizen was granted Indian citizenship after 35 years of her marriage. Zubaida Begum was granted Indian citizenship last week. While speaking to ANI, Zubaida Begum said, "We ran from pillar to post, in Lucknow and Delhi. Now, I feel good. I should have been granted this earlier. Meanwhile, Inspector of Local Intelligence Unit (LIU), Naresh Kumar said, "She got married in 1985 and applied for Indian nationality in 1994. When she completed seven years on the basis of her LTV (Long Term Visa), the process began. On the basis of her conduct, she was granted Indian citizenship last week."

Chhattisgarh Police caught 4 robbers with SBI cash van carrying Rs 1 crore

Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Oct 06 (ANI): With the help of locals, Chhattisgarh's Bemetara Police caught four robbers with a cash van of the State Bank of India (SBI) carrying Rs 1 crore, within a few hours of the crime. While addressing a press conference in Chhattisgarh's Raipur on October 05, Director General of Police (DGP) of Chhattisgarh DM Awasthi said, "Within 15 minutes of the crime police blockade was done and police was posted at all dist related to spot of crime. Under our 'janmitra yojana' we have connected people to all police stations via WhatsApp." "The details of vehicle was also sent to all people," DGP added.
