Bengaluru, Sep 22 (ANI): While addressing a event in Bengaluru, BJP working president JP Nadda on September 22 said, "That Article 370 gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir is a historical lie. There were no takers of this Article in the Constituent Assembly. Nobody wanted to consider this idea. When PM Nehru asked Sheikh Abdullah to convince the then Law Minister BR Ambedkar about Article 370, Ambedkar told him, 'You want us to protect your borders, provide food and connectivity but you do not want citizenship rights for Indians in JandK. This is unacceptable to me'."

Nepal remembers Mahatma Gandhi on 150th year of birth

Kathmandu (Nepal), Sep 22 (ANI): Consulate General of India celebrated the 150th year of birth of Mahatma Gandhi with a Khadi Fashion Show in Birgunj town of Nepal. The event was held at Hotel Vishwa for the first time. Around 13 students from different schools participated in the event and the winners of the show were presented with awards. India and all the Gandhi-followers worldwide celebrate Bapu's birth anniversary on 2nd October, which is also known as Gandhi Jayanti. Born in 1869, in Gujarat's Porbandar, Mahatma Gandhi had his early political training in South Africa while working among the local Indian community facing discrimination and oppression.

Odisha Women's Adventure Club organises bike rally to spread awareness about traffic rules

Prayagraj flood: Houses submerged, rescue operation on

Prayagraj (UP), Sep 22 (ANI): Flood-like situation continues in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj after water level of Yamuna and Ganga rivers continued to rise due to heavy rainfall in the area over the past few days. Relentless rains have led to flood-like situation in the region with the villages near the banks of rivers being partially submerged in water. While some areas due to presence of plastic and silt in the drain, stagnant water has become a breeding ground for dengue mosquitoes. As many as 210 people were moved in to relief camps near Ganganagar village in the district last week.

YouTube makes a U-turn after verification policy change sparks uproar

New Delhi, Sep 22 (ANI): A day after announcing changes to its verification policy for creators, YouTube is rethinking its own decision. As Mashable reports, YouTube previously announced that it was removing the checkmarks and notifying many users that they were no longer eligible for verification. The company has now clarified that creators who already have the verification badge will keep it and don't have to appeal and those over 1,00,000 subscribers will still be eligible to apply. The application process will reopen by the end of October.

6 dead in explosion at firecracker factory in UP's Etah

Assembly election: BJP's election campaign will revolve around Article 370, not on real issues, says Kapil Sibal

New Delhi, Sep 21 (ANI): After the announcement of assembly election dates for the states of Maharashtra and Haryana, Congress leader Kapil Sibal took a jibe at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by saying that BJP's election campaign will revolve around revocation of Article 370. Watch: Several dead fish found floating in Bengaluru's Sheelavantanakere lake

Nallurahalli (Bengaluru), Sep 21 (ANI): Several dead fish on September 21 were reported to be floating in the Sheelavantanakere lake in Nallurahalli, Bengaluru. Many more fish are on a verge of dying due to the contaminated water which has devastated the marine ecosystem lies in the heart of Whitefield area. Fishermen have cleared several tonnes of dead fish in three days and residents across the lake say they have been witnessing this phenomenon for the last four days.

International Coastal Cleanup Day: Vidyut Jammwal, Nandita Das participate in beach cleaning drive

Puri (Odisha), Sep 21 (ANI): Thousands of volunteers from across the nation gathered in Odisha's Puri to participate in the massive beach cleanup drive on the occasion of International Coastal Cleanup Day (ICCD) on September 21.
