Baloda Bazar (Chhattisgarh), Sep 18 (ANI): Police have arrested 2 people in connection with an incident wherein a woman was allegedly raped and later blackmailed in Chhattisgarh's Baloda Bazar. Police official said, "We received complaint on Sept 12 that Manish (accused) befriended the victim 2 years ago and called her home. His mother gave the victim drink laced with intoxicants. The accused raped her and act was filmed. After the incident, brother-in-law and mother of the accused blackmailed the woman for money." An FIR has been registered in the matter and the accused and his mother are arrested.
New Delhi, Sep 18 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Delhi, Secretary Health and Family Welfare, Preeti Sudan on e-cigarettes ban and its punishment proposed said, "The punishment proposed is imprisonment up to 1 year or a fine of up to Rs. 1 lakh, or both for the first offence and imprisonment of 3 years or a fine up to Rs. 5 lakhs or both, for subsequent offence. E-hookahs are also included." Today, Union Cabinet has approved to complete ban on e-cigarettes in the country.

Wajahat Hasan Mirza at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) slammed Pakistan for misusing the region. He said that Pak is building Diamer-Bhasha Dam in the disputed region due to which thousands of rock carving would be submerged. He also highlighted that building of this dam would also displaced thousands of indigenous people.
Kupwara (JandK), Sep 18 (ANI): The Indian Army organised medical camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on September 18. A large number of people came in for check-ups. New Delhi, Sep 18 (ANI): Lakshmi, a 39-year-old elephant is the cynosure of all eyes at Sharkarpur police station here, where she is currently lodged after being rescued from her caretaker who had allegedly kept her hidden, for over two months, to prevent forest officials from taking her away. On Tuesday night police traced and rescued Laxmi from near east Delhi's Akshardham temple and also arrested mahout on charges of fleeing with the jumbo on July 6. Two months ago, an FIR was filed when Laxmi went missing after the caretaker allegedly spirited her away. For now, the policemen at the station are taking care of her. Laxmi is Delhi's last elephant, who was supposed to be sent by forest department officials to a rehabilitation centre. This was in accordance with a Delhi High Court order which stated that elephants in Delhi should be kept away from human habitation as it does not provide a natural habitat for these animals.
New Delhi, Sep 18 (ANI): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday announced important decision approved after the Union Cabinet meeting. She said cabinet approved to complete ban on e-cigarettes in the country. While addressing a press conference in Delhi, she said, "The Union Cabinet has given approval to ban e-cigarettes. It means the production, manufacturing, import/export, transport, sale, distribution, storage and advertising related to e-cigarettes are banned." "Reports said that there are some who are probably getting into the habit of e-cigarettes as it seems cool. It is believed that there are more than 400 brands, none of which is manufactured yet in India. And they come in over 150 flavours," she added.
Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Sep 18 (ANI): Five inmates escaped from Juvenile Detention Centre in Madhya Pradesh's Indore by breaking an old window on September 17. The five inmates who escaped from the centre have been identified as Akash, Ravi, Hrithik, Dharmendra and Arun. The incident took place at 1:30 pm in the afternoon. They were serving time at the detention centre after being charged under various sections. While Ravi was charged for murder, Dharmendra was charged for kidnapping and rape. The five escaped while inmates were playing cricket in the playground in jail premises. A search is underway in the case.

According to TechCrunch, publishers and creators will be able to schedule their Instagram Feed and IGTV content for up to six months. The feature is now open to all creators and publishers with Facebook Pages. However, scheduling a Story is not yet included. In a few months, Facebook promises to add drafting and editing feature to Instagram Feed and IGTV.

Guwahati (Assam), Sep 18 (ANI): National Register of Citizens (NRC) of Assam excluded around 2,000 transgenders from its list. Assam's first transgender Judge and petitioner, Swati Bidhan Baruah spoke to ANI on the matter of the exclusion of transgenders from the list and said, "Most transgenders were abandoned, they don't have documents pertaining to before 1971. Objection applications didn't contain 'others' as gender category. NRC wasn't inclusive for transgenders and forced them to accept male or female as their gender. We're hoping SC will take into consideration our petition."

New Delhi, Sep 18 (ANI): Outgoing Kazakhstan Ambassador to India, Bulat Sarsenbayev on September 17 expressed hope that India and Pakistan would bilaterally iron out their differences over Kashmir issue. New Delhi, Sep 18 (ANI): As mosquitoes mostly spread dengue virus while feeding on iron deficit blood, researchers suggest consuming iron-rich food if dealing with iron deficiency, anaemia or dengue fever. Dengue is most commonly acquired in urban environments, and the expansion of cities in the tropics has been accompanied by an expansion in dengue infections. The reason has to do with the mosquitoes' own immune systems. Cells in a mosquito's gut take up iron in the blood and use it to produce reactive oxygen. Reactive oxygen kills the dengue virus. In any case, Wang said, understanding how dengue is transmitted will help public health authorities and scientists develop new ways to control the disease, and hopefully similar viruses such as Zika and West Nile virus as well.
