Hyderabad, Aug 14 (ANI): All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi on being asked on allegations leveled against him for helping Pakistan in spreading rumours, he said, "I believe that one day someone will also kill me. I believe that 'Godse ki aulad' can do this to me. The successors of Godse are still living in our nation." Further justifying his criticism of Article 370 revocation in Kashmir, he said, "I'm an MP but can I go to Arunachal Pradesh and Lakshadweep? I've to take a permit for it. Can I buy land in scheduled areas of Assam, I can't. I'm telling people of Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Assam and Himachal that it will happen there too."

Asansol (West Bengal), Aug 14 (ANI): The West Bengal Police on August 14 arrested six persons accused of abducting and killing a girl in Asansol. While four of the accused have already been brought to the police station in Asansol, the remaining two have also been nabbed at a separate place. Police tracked the six when they received a complaint of a ransom call over a missing girl, and during the investigation, the names of the six accused came up after which they were arrested.

Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 14 (ANI): School students and teachers tied 'rakhi' to Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawans on eve of 'Raksha Bandhan'. The event took place in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur. Women fed sweets to their 'rakhi' brothers. They tied 'rakhi' to jawans as they are usually away from their homes during all the festivals. Srinagar (J-K), Aug 14 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Munir Khan spoke to mediapersons on the current situation of Jammu and Kashmir. Munir Khan said, "Restrictions have been lifted in Jammu, schools and other establishments are functional. In Kashmir, restrictions at certain places are in place. The restrictions aren't imposed in a generalised manner. When a new situation of law and order arises, opposite parties including the neighbouring states take the initiative of unleashing the propaganda. Videos of 2016 and 2010 are in circulation now that is part of propaganda. We're taking all measures to thwart these attempts." He further said, "Law order situation is totally under control. There have been localised incidents in various parts of Srinagar district and other districts, which had been contained and dealt with locally. There have been no major injuries. Lucknow (UP), Aug 14 (ANI): General Post Office (GPO) Lucknow introduced designer waterproof envelopes for Raksha Bandhan. These waterproof envelopes are available at a cost of Rs 10. Women are using it in large amount to send 'rakhis' to their brothers. These envelopes provided a sense of satisfaction among customers that their 'rakhis' will reach safely. While speaking to ANI, Chief Postmaster RN Yadav said, "The envelopes have been sent across the state. There's a stick-on side on it, so you need not use glue. They're available at a cost of Rs 10." Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu festival and celebrates the relationship of brother-sister. 'Raksha Bandhan' is a Sanskrit word, which translates in English to "the bond of protection, obligation, or care".

Sehore (MP), Aug 14 (ANI): Criticising BJP ruled central government for its decision on the Kashmir issue, Congress leader and former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Digvijaya Singh asserted that it will further escalate the problems in the Valley. Speaking on Tuesday, Singh said, "The decision that they took without taking people of Kashmir in confidence, was not right. It will escalate problems. Don't forget there is China on one side, Pakistan on the other, there is Afghanistan too. Think what trouble have you put the nation in?" Singh further accused party ideologues of siding with Britishers during India's freedom struggle for Independence prior to 1947. "Congress has always emphasised on nationalism. Was Hyderabad integrated in India by BJP or did it or Sangh fought for the country's Independence? Did BJP or RSS had any role in making Kashmir part of India? These people in-fact before 1947 were standing with the British government."
