New Delhi, Nov 18 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal visited GTB Hospital on November 18. He informed that there is a shortage of ICU beds but also assured that Delhi govt is closely working on it. "There is an increase in COVID-19 cases in Delhi but there are enough beds available now. There is shortage of ICU beds but we are looking into it. There are many cases in Delhi, our doctors and health workers are responding to it very well," said Delhi CM. He assured, "I believe in the next few days, more than 600 ICU beds will be added in the hospitals of Delhi. Central government has assured to provide 750 beds more beds at the DRDO facility."
Cooch Behar (WB), Nov 18 (ANI): A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker was found dead in West Bengal's Cooch Behar. Family of the deceased alleges that he was killed by TMC goons. Police have denied political angle in the case.
Hyderabad, Nov 18 (ANI): Dr Vijay Bhaskar, Chairman, Ethics Committee (clinical trials and research) informed about the status of COVID vaccine. He said that several vaccines are in third phase of clinical trials and common people will able to have access to them once a success rate of 94% is achieved. "There are about 169 companies are for going clinical trials, only 7 companies are in third phase of clinical trials. Today in Hyderabad, Covaxin is underway, second trial is over and it is entering the third phase of trials. Probably about 30-40 thousand people will go under clinical trials," said Dr Vijay Bhaskar, Chairman, Ethics Committee (clinical trials and research). He further added, "Covaxin has entered the third phase of clinical trial. The American, Pfizer is also entering third phase as they have seen 92% success rate in different countries. So, if in phase three trial if they are efficient to give success rate of 94%, common people will be able to get vaccine in fourth phase

Coronavirus vaccine update: World Health Organisation (WHO) director-general A G Tedros has said that a vaccine by itself will not stop coronavirus pandemic. He explained that a vaccine will complement the other tools we have, but will not replace them. The statement has come at a time time when US-based biotech giants Moderna claimed its vaccine is 94.5% effective. So, taking both claims into account, can we say that we are on track to checkmate the pandemic by 2021?
New Delhi, Nov 17 (ANI): Delhi's air quality continued to improve on November 17. According to Central Pollution Control Board's National Air Quality Index, most parts of the national capital recorded moderate category on air pollution index. Some of the areas like RK Puram poor and Ashok Vihar recorded 'Poor' category. Wazirpur and North Campus recorded 'Satisfactory' category. The dip in air pollution levels is due to evening showers on November 15th, followed by increased wind speed. According to National Air Quality Index, an air quality index (AQI) between 0-50 is marked good, 51-100 is satisfactory, 101- 200 is moderate, 201- 300 is poor, 301-400 is very poor and 401-500 is considered severe.

New Delhi, Nov 17 (ANI): People with Amazon Fire TV streaming devices, Fire TV Edition smart TVs, and Fire tablets can load HBO Max directly on those devices from November 17. According to The Verge, it is possible thanks to an agreement between Amazon and HBO owner WarnerMedia. Until now, Amazon allowed HBO customers to access a version of HBO Now, but there was no way to get Max, WarnerMedia's new streaming service. WarnerMedia's announcement noted that current HBO subscribers who go through Amazon's Prime Video Channel option (Channels allows Amazon Prime subscribers to purchase individual plans for certain streamers) will also be able to log into Max for no additional cost. For other HBO product subscribers, the HBO app on Fire TV and Fire tablets will automatically switch over to HBO Max, so the users do not have to do any work. People can log in with their current HBO credentials. New customers will be able to sign up for HBO Max directly within the app as well.

New Delhi, Nov 17 (ANI): New research from the University of South Australia shows that excess egg consumption can increase your risk of diabetes. Conducted in partnership with the China Medical University, and Qatar University, the longitudinal study (1991 to 2009) is the first to assess egg consumption in a large sample of Chinese adults. It found that people who regularly consumed one or more eggs per day (equivalent to 50 grams) increased their risk of diabetes by 60 per cent. With the prevalence of diabetes in China now exceeding 11 per cent - above that of the global average of 8.5 per cent - diabetes has become a serious public health concern. The economic impact of diabetes is also significant, accounting for 10 per cent of global health expenditure (USD $760 billion). In China, diabetes-related costs have exceeded USD USD109 billion. Indore (MP), Nov 17 (ANI): Former minister Namdev Das Tyagi, also known as Computer Baba, was sent to one-day police remand on Monday in connection with an assault case. District Prosecution Officer Akram Shaikh said a special court granted him bail in another case of obstructing official work during the demolition of his illegal ashram in Indore. "He will be produced before the court tomorrow. (Tuesday)," he said. DPO said, "There were two cases against Computer Baba. The first case is about obstructing official work in which court has granted him bail. Imphal (Manipur), Nov 17 (ANI): A one-day fish fair-cum-fish crop competition will be held on November 16. The Directorate of Fisheries is all set to sell fishes for Ningol Chakouba at 20 per cent discount rate compared to previous years. The discount was given as the economy of the state was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. The government had fixed the prices of eight different species of fishes. These species include Catla (Catla Catla), Rohu (Labeo Rohita), Mrigal (C. Mrigala), Common Carp (C. Carpio), Grass Carp (C. Idella), Silver Carp (H. Molitrix), Pengba/Khabak and Ngaton (L. Bata). The average price of the fishes will be Rs 300 per kg and fish production target for the fish fair is 90,000 kg. Of the total 20 per cent discount, 10 per cent is be borne by the department and remaining will be incurred by fish farmers.
