New Delhi, May 13 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda on May 13 said that the Rs 20 lakh crore economic relief package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 12, is a 'historical' and it will become the basis to give India an economic quantum jump. He said, "Poor people, labourers, and medium and small industries of the country have been given special consideration in this package. Middle class has also been given consideration, this package is historical and will become the basis to give India an economic quantum jump."

South Central Railway opens 'barest minimum' reservation counters in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 13 (ANI): The South Central Railway (SCR) opened "barest minimum" reservation counters in Hyderabad. Earlier, Ministry of Railway announced that "barest minimum" reservation counters shall be opened at railway stations for 15 pairs of trains. These reservations counters are opened at stations from where trains will be originate/terminate or stoppage station enroute, for six categories of ticket holders including High Official Requisition holders.

Passengers delighted with 'good journey' on Howrah-New Delhi special train

New Delhi, May 13 (ANI): Special train carrying passengers from Howrah arrived in New Delhi railway station on May 13 on 2nd day of resumption of train services. One of the passengers said, "The journey was good. Proper arrangements were made and social distancing was also followed". Indian Railways started services of limited passenger trains with guidelines amid COVID-19 lockdown. Services of 15 pairs of special air-conditioned trains have been restarted.

COVID-19: 2858 people recovered in Delhi so far, says Health Minister Satyendar Jain

New Delhi, May 13 (ANI): Reviewing coronavirus situation in Delhi, Health Minister Satyendar Jain informed about the numbers in national capital. "346 people have been cured/discharged taking the total number of recovered cases to 2858," said Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain. "It is advised to follow social distancing norms, use sanitizers and wear masks to avoid getting infected," he added.

Elephant owners in Kerala suffer due to lockdown

Kozhikode (Kerala), May 13 (ANI): Coronavirus lockdown in the country has badly affected lives of elephant keepers and mahouts in Kozhikode. Expressing unhappiness over ongoing lockdown, owners said lack of resources has made it difficult to look after elephants. Bihar's 'Mango Man' names new variety 'Lockdown'

Lockdown 3.0: Train passengers coming from Patna screened at NDLS

New Delhi, May 13 (ANI): A passenger train from Rajendra Nagar Terminal railway station, Patna (Bihar) reached New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS), a day after services resumed. "Was stuck there for two months, I am happy to be back now," said a passenger. Thorough health screening was also conducted by authorities at the station. Bengaluru, May 13 (ANI): While speaking to ANI amid coronavirus pandemic on May 12, the Secretary General of 'The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India' (ASSOCHAM), Deepak Sood spoke on economic package announced by PM Narendra Modi. He said, "With this announcement, we can very clearly say the estimations of 0-1% growth are now defeated and we are very clear that if all this money is pumped into the economy we should see 2-3% or 4% growth as we move along and as early as March of next year."
