TASMAC wine shops reopened amid lockdown 3.0, police take precautions to avoid chaos

Pamban/Chennai/Madurai (Tamil Nadu), May 07(ANI): Amid lockdown 3.0 and followed relaxations, government-run TASMAC wine shops were reopened from May 07. To avoid overcrowding and chaos, police has taken multiple precautionary measures. Barricades were put up outside wine shops in Pamban to avoid the chaos. Strict checking of vehicles was underway by police in Chennai's Vandalur. Policemen were seen on duty in Madurai's Periyar Bus stand too.

Gas has been neutralized, FIR registered: Visakhapatnam CP on Andhra gas leak incident

Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), May 07 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, the Police Commissioner of Visakhapatnam City, Rajeev Kumar Meena said, "Gas has been neutralized. NDRF team has reached the spot. Maximum impact was in about 1-1.5 kms but smell was till 2-2.5 kms. 100-120 people have been shifted to hospital. Total three persons have died in the incident. An FIR has been registered." A chemical gas leakage has been reported in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam on May 07. The incident took place at LG Polymers industry in RR Venkatapuram village of Visakhapatnam. According to the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO), 3 persons, including one child were declared dead due to the chemical gas leakage. People were being taken to hospital after they complained of burning sensation in eyes and breathing difficulties. Police, fire tenders and ambulances reached the spot. One of the migrant workers said, "No trains, no bus services are available for us to return to our village." Fire breaks out in garment godown in Delhi's Daryaganj

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), May 07 (ANI): Around 31 police personnel in Madhya Pradesh's Indore are affected with COVID-19 pandemic. Himachal tourism industry takes a punch after COVID-19 lockdown shut travel

Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh), May 07 (ANI): Tourism industry in Himachal Pradesh has been hit badly by the coronavirus-induced lockdown, as travelling has been completely shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "50-60% of the total revenue in a year used to be earned in April, May and June. We won't earn this now due to COVID. We are concerned that how will we bear our expenses," Vijay Inder, an hotelier in Dharamshala, told ANI about the tremendous hit the tourism industry has taken since the coronavirus outbreak. "Government has allowed movement of taxi but if tourists don't come, we'll only be sitting in office. Locals aren't stepping out of homes due to COVID. Government should provide us some relaxation in taxes, interest on EMI and payment of insurance premiums," said Varun Thakur of Dharamshala Taxi Union.

COVID-19: Over 25,000 samples collected in Jodhpur, DM says people coming on their own

Nearly 4,000 cartons of liquor stolen from sealed godown in Haryana's Panipat

Panipat (Haryana), May 07 (ANI): 3,926 cartons of liquor have been stolen from a sealed godown in Haryana's Panipat in the span of four years from 2016 to 2020, Excise official Rajesh Rohilla said. The licensed godown was sealed in 2016 after some liquor cartons went missing, and an FIR was also filed in 2018 when there was theft reported in the godown, Rohilla added. Police has registered an FIR after Excise Department lodged a complaint of liquor cartons being stolen again.
