Bengaluru, Apr 29 (ANI): Due to the overnight rainfall, a part of the side wall of a storm drain in Pattegarhpalya area of Bengaluru collapsed in the morning of April 29. However, no casualties have been reported so far. Meanwhile, fire department, emergency services and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officers have reached the spot.
Malappuram (Kerala), Apr 29 (ANI): Movie theatre owners across country are facing huge losses due to temporary shutdown of cinema halls in the wake of coronavirus lockdown. A movie theatre owner in Kerala's Malappuram said, "To keep the digital technology working, we need to check them daily. As far as expenses are concerned for machines used in cinema theaters, there is no reduction but at same time, there is no income. We have reached such a situation we can't survive any longer." The movie theatre owner urged government to give reduction in fixed charges of electricity and entertainment tax.

Bengaluru, Apr 29 (ANI): Rain accompanied by strong wind was witnessed in Bengaluru as the Karnataka capital is witnessing continuous showers in part of the city. IMD has predicted similar weather conditions to prevail for 48 hours. Amid lockdown, most people were in their homes to enjoy the pleasant weather. The minimum and maximum temperature recorded in Bengaluru is 19 C and 22 C.
Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 29 (ANI): Due to low demand of flowers in the wake of coronavirus, a farmer destroyed vast amount of his harvest. Mahipal Singh, who is from Uttar Pradesh's Meerut, said, "I'm forced to destroy plants and prepare field for new crop. Around 30 families were dependent on it, but we've suffered losses amounting to Rs 10-12 lakh". Flower business has also been hit by cancellation of weddings and other events.
New Delhi, Apr 29 (ANI): Tightened security at the border areas of Delhi is in place amid the coronavirus lockdown. Security personnel were seen conducting routine checking at Delhi-Gurugram border. Entry and exit point of the border are under strict surveillance. Meanwhile, Police personnel are vigilant at Delhi-Faridabad border to restrict unnecessary movement of public. Total 3108 confirmed cases have been reported in Delhi with 54 deaths so far.
North 24 Parganas (WB), Apr 29 (ANI): An Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) visited GNRC medical Hospital on April 29 in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas. The team reviewed preventive measures being followed at the hospital to contain the spread of COVID-19. Central team is on West Bengal visit to assess the ground situation due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Apr 29 (ANI): Two persons got injured in a fire that broke out at Shishtwari village in Shimla's Chirgaon area. Seven houses were gutted in the fire incident. According to Shimla's Deputy Commissioner, Amit Kashyap, "The injured have been shifted to hospital. Fire fighting operation is underway. However, one person has gone missing."

"We've started an online protest 'selfie with empty vessels' because today drivers have only empty vessels at homes. Govt should've given a thought about what hardships coronavirus lockdown will cause to daily wage earners," said T Pasha, Pres Ola Uber Drivers and Owners Association.
Chandigarh (Haryana), Apr 28 (ANI): The VIP Security wing of Chandigarh Police has invented a "lockdown breaker" to catch lockdown violators while maintaining social distancing during Covid-19 outbreak.The DSP Amrao Singh along with his team headed by Chandigarh Head Constable Gurdeep Singh developed a device that is made by steel and with a 5 feet length to capture the lockdown violators without coming in contact with them. The idea came in after a video of a lady spitting on police constable went viral.
New Delhi, Apr 28(ANI): Pakistani Refugees living in refugee camp near Signature Bridge are facing multiple problems amid corona outbreak and nationwide lockdown. They are getting dry ration from different organisations as well as food items from Delhi government but are lacking basic necessity of light and water supply. Since the camp is based in jungles on the bank of river Yamuna near Delhi's iconic signature bridge, they have to travel at least one kilometre for necessary items. They claim that wild animals and some insects have become a threat for them. Some 5-10 people among them keep vigil throughout the night. There is no electricity and due to it, they are facing many problems in night.

Panaji (GOA), Apr 28(ANI): Goa boat owners association demands relief fund from government as they are badly hit by lockdown. All Goa Purse Seine Boat Owners Association President, Harshad Dhond told ANI that because of seven storms, the fishing business in Goa was almost finished, as there were not much fishing activities. "After that we did little bit of fishing but this corona lockdown was implemented," he added. "We are facing financial crunch, we are not able to give salaries and we are unable to meet our day to day expenses," said Harshad Dhond.
Bulandshahr (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 28 (ANI): Two priests were brutally murdered at a temple by a drug addict in Bulandshahr. Their last rites will be performed as per the custom. Speaking on it, Atul Kumar Chaubey, Circle Officer, Anoopshahr, said, "Accused (Murari) has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Weapon used in the crime has been recovered. Post-mortem of the bodies has been done. Their last rites will be performed as per the custom."

Only 16 people, including the Chief Priest of the temple, will be present when the portals of the temple will open. 'Darshan' will not be allowed for the devotees as of now due to COVID-19 outbreak.

New Delhi, Apr 28(ANI): Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal informed that plasma therapy is being experimented, however no evidence that this can be used as a treatment. "National level study launched by ICMR to study efficacy," he added. He said that until ICMR concluded its study and a robust scientific proof is available, plasma therapy should be used only for research or trial purpose. "If plasma therapy is not used in proper manner under proper guideline then it can also cause life threatening complications," he added.
