Kalaburagi (Karnataka), Apr 19 (ANI): Kalaburagi city Police seized around 4,200 vehicles till April 19 for violating COVID-19 lockdown. The nation is in its 2nd phase of lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19. Karnataka police conducting special drives to enforce lockdown in the city. COVID-19: Collective efforts of administration, private doctors set up 20 beds ICU in 14 days

Mira Bhayandar (Maharashtra), Apr 19 (ANI): Maharashtra has emerged as a capital of COVID-19 patients these days. Most of the cities and districts are now affected from the dreadful virus. During this hard time, hospitals equipped with isolation chambers and equipments can play a crucial role to save lives. Considering the gravity of the situation, Thane's Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation has prepared 20 beds ICU chamber in less than 15 days to treat COVID-19 patients. The ICU at Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Hospital consists of 20 beds with 18 ventilators. The ICU chamber also has 36 doctors 62 nurses and other staff to treat patients. The ICU fulfills the entire international standard and is ready to treat the patients.

Amit Shah holds meeting with officials on current situation of COVID-19

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a meeting with top officials to take stock of the current situation regarding COVID-19 pandemic. The ministry had set up a 24/7 control room to coordinate with all the states. So far India has reported 14378 COVID-19 cases along with 488 deaths. Of all the states, Maharashtra is on top with 3323 COVID-19 cases and 201 deaths.

Naxals set ablaze to 7 vehicles in Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon district

Rajnandgaon (Chhattisgarh), Apr 18 (ANI): In Chhattisgarh, Naxals set ablaze to seven vehicles who were engaged in road construction in Rajnandgaon district on April 18. New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): In just 15 minutes, now doctors can find out whether a person is coronavirus positive or not. "The 'Rapid Antibody Detection Test Kit' can detect coronavirus from a body in just 15 minutes," said National Institute of Malaria Research's (NIMR) Scientist, Himmat. ANI reporter has volunteered to showcase rapid tests here. The reporter was tested negative for COVID-19. This test kit may help the nation to map the spread of the disease.

A woman dies after boat loaded with ration overturned in Patna

Patna (Bihar), Apr 18(ANI): A woman died after a boat loaded with ration materials and around 24-26 people overturned in River Ganga in Patna on April 18. The overloaded boat had hit the Pipa Pul in Patna city before it overturned. So far, SDRF has rescued one woman and her son. One dead body was also found. Further rescue operation by NDRF and SDRF is underway. "Around 2-3 people are still there, rescue operation is underway," says SDRF personnel.

Auto, taxi drivers face hardship amid nationwide lockdown

Hyderabad (Telangana), Apr 18 (ANI): Auto rickshaw and drivers of cab provider companies like 'Ola' and 'Uber' are facing hardship due to nationwide lockdown. App-based cab driver in Hyderabad said, "It has become very difficult to manage our financial expenses. Our children are also suffering. We request the state and central government to help us." An auto driver from Delhi had no clue about his future. He said, "There is no proper food available, my all savings are also going to end, I am stuck here." CM Kejriwal announces Rs 1 crore for kin of all employees who die while dealing with COVID-19 patients

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal informed that if any doctor, nurse, sanitation worker at hospital, lab technician contracts the infection and dies due to it, while dealing with the patients of COVID-19, then Delhi government will provide their families with a compensation of Rs 1 crore. "There are other people too who are looking after Corona patients like Police, Civil Defence volunteers, teachers. If anyone contracts corona dies due to it, while looking after Corona patients, then it will be extended to all such people. Their families will also be given Rs 1 crore," said CM Kejriwal.

COVID-19: Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury turns his office into control room to assist migrant workers

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury turned his office into control room to provide help to migrant workers amid the nationwide lockdown. "I am getting around 500 calls daily from the migrant workers. Sometimes people start crying over the phone as they are stranded with no food and shelter," said Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to ANI. In order to provide them assistance, the Congress leader is reaching out to party leaders across the country and various chief ministers to help migrant labourers. More than 29% COVID-19 cases linked to Nizamuddin Markaz: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): The Health Ministry informed that 29.8% coronavirus cases are related to Nizamuddin Markaz. While addressing the daily health bulletin in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal said, "Out of total 14,378 cases, 4291 (29.8%) cases are related to Nizamuddin Markaz cluster from single source and affected 23 states and Union Territories (UTs)." "84% cases in Tamil Nadu, 63% cases in Delhi, 79% cases in Telangana, 59% cases in Uttar Pradesh and 61% in Andhra Pradesh are related to the event," Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal further said.

No fresh cases in 45 districts in last 14 days: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 18(ANI): Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal said, "A positive trend has been noted in 47 districts across 23 states." He further informed that no positive cases have been reported in the last 28 days in Mahe of Puducherry, and Kodagu of Karnataka. "In 45 other districts, no new positive cases have been reported in last 14 days," said Lav Agarwal.
