20 Indian Navy personnel shifted to hospital after testing positive of COVID-19

Panaji (Goa), Apr 18 (ANI): At least 20 Indian Navy personnel tested COVID-19 positive at INS Angre in Mumbai. Minister of State for Defence, Shripad Naik informed, "20 COVID-19 positive cases have emerged from INS Angre depot in Colaba, where 130 people were kept under quarantine. Patients have been shifted to the Indian Navy's hospital and are being treated. Others have been quarantined."

Appropriate measures will be taken to improve economic scenario: CM Gehlot

Jaipur (Rajasthan), April 18 (ANI): Interacting with the media through video conference Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said "Industrial units will operate from April 20 under the modified lockdown and migrant labourers, who are still staying here, will start getting work." He said that on the basis of report prepared by the committee constituted under the chairmanship of his economic advisor Arvind Mayaram, government will take appropriate steps towards improving the economic situation. Slowly the economy of the state will start coming back on track. CM said that except for the areas where hotspots have been identified in the state, limited economic activities will be conducted keeping in mind the social distancing. Apart from this, work could also be started in industrial areas during the modified lockdown. Home Ministry waves off over stay penalty for foreigners stuck in India due to COVID-19

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): Home Ministry Joint Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava informed that the ministry has decided to extend the validity of the visas of the foreigners, who are stuck in India due to COVID-19 outbreak. The extension will be granted till May 3, 2020. The Joint Secretary said, "Foreigners will not be charged for extension and they need not to pay anything extra for their stay."

Several UP districts are becoming Corona free: Awanish K Awasthi

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Awanish K Awasthi said, "Several districts are becoming Corona free- Pilibhit, Maharajganj, Hathras. Now Shahjahanpur is also on the verge to become Corona free. Bareilly and Prayagraj have also become Corona free." He further said that CM has announced that Rs 1000 will be given to destitute people. "Those who were left out, in urban and rural areas, will also be identified and given Rs 1000. So far state govt has given Rs 236.98 crore to 23,70,000 labourers, as maintenance allowance, he added.

Unseasonal rain brings hardship to MP's farmers amid lockdown

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 18 (ANI): The unseasonal rain brought more difficulties for farmers in Madhya Pradesh. Amid the nationwide lockdown, farmers are already facing hardships to sell their crops in 'mandis'. 10 COVID-19 patients discharged after recovery from Chennai's hospital

Chennai, Apr 18 (ANI): On April 18, around 10 COVID-19 patients were discharged from Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital in Chennai after getting recovered. "13 were discharged earlier, out of which 5 are interested in plasma donation, 4 are not fit, while we are motivating the rest," said Vasanthamani, Dean, Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital (GKMC).

Three persons burnt alive in road accident in AP's West Godavari
