New Delhi, Feb 14 (ANI): Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa at Rashtrapati Bhavan on February 14 received ceremonial reception. He was received by President Ram Nath Kovind. President Marcelo was accorded guard of honour after which he met dignitaries. Portuguese President is on a four-day state visit to India.
Kannauj/ Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh)/ Gurdaspur (Punjab), Feb 14 (ANI): A year has passed to gruesome Pulwama attack but families of slain soldiers are still approaching government for unfulfilled promises. Families of those CRPF personnel are awaiting jobs, memorials and other forms of compensation to support them. A family member of CRPF personnel who lost life in Pulwama attack said, "It's been year and we are still dealing with issues. We were promised 5 bigha piece of land, we have only received 2.5 till present. No infrastructure has been built in the name of martyr. All the promises were lie. There has been no arrangement from the government." Over 40 personnel lost their lives in dastardly attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama. The terror attack led to an air strike by Indian Air Force on the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) camp in Balakot.

Speaking on Pulwama attack, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister and Congress leader Nawab Malik said, "40 CRPF jawans died in Pulwama Attack. Till date, no inquiry has been commissioned to find out from where RDX came and how the vehicle reached the spot? Vehicle's driver was in jail. How did he come out? Probe should be conducted as people want to know truth."

New Delhi, Feb 14 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered veteran politician and country's former External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj on her birth anniversary (February 14). "Remembering Sushma Ji. She epitomised dignity, decency and unwavering commitment to public service. Firmly rooted in Indian values and ethos, she had great dreams for our nation. She was an exceptional colleague and an outstanding Minister," tweeted Prime Minister Modi. Bharatiya Janata Party veteran was known for her proactive approach towards dealing international relations. Swaraj was respected across party lines for her articulated fiery speeches in Parliament. She passed away in AIIMS after suffering heart attack at the age of 67 on August 6.
Guwahati (Assam), Feb 14 (ANI): The Guwahati Police on February 14 has filed an FIR against a former official of National Register of Citizens (NRC). "A complaint has been launched by executive director of NRC. Allegation is that the employee has not shared the password of some email- IDs before leaving the organisation, in that connection a case has been registered; investigation is under process," said Guwahati's Police Commissioner, MP Gupta. Assam NRC list had gone offline from the official website recently. The final list was published on August 31, 2019.
Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir), Feb 14 (ANI): Umesh Gopinath Jadhav, a resident of Maharashtra, was the special guest at the wreath-laying ceremony in Pulwama on February 14. The wreath-laying ceremony was held at CRPF's Lethpora camp. He took a 61000-km-long journey across India to meet families of the 40 jawans who lost their lives in attack, last year. He collected soil from their homes and cremation grounds. While speaking to mediapesons, Umesh Gopinath Jadhav said, "I'm proud that I met all the families of Pulwama martyrs, and sought their blessings. Parents lost their son, wives lost their husbands, children lost their fathers, friends lost their friends. I collected soil from their houses and their cremation grounds." Soil collected by Umesh from houses and cremation grounds of CRPF jawans, was offered at the memorial at Lethpora camp. New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): Frustrated with continued delay in the hanging of 2012 Delhi gang-rape convicts, Nirbhaya's mother Asha Devi on February 12 said the Patiala House Court judge is supporting the convicts and hence, is not issuing a fresh death warrants against the perpetrators, and urged the Supreme Court to fix new date for the hanging of the convicts."The judge does not want to fix a date for hanging the convicts and is supporting them. I appeal to the Supreme Court to issue the death warrant as the Patiala House Court is in no mood to issue a fresh death warrant," Nirbhaya's mother told reporters outside the Patiala House Court in the national capital.
