Working on mantra of 'per drop more crop': PM Modi at Global Potato Conclave

New Delhi, Jan 28 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 28 addressed at Global Potato Conclave 2020 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat via video-conferencing. Addressing the conclave, PM Modi said, "It's good that Potato Conclave is being held out of Delhi. It's being held in Gujarat and this is important because this is the leading state in India, as far as potato production is concerned." He further added, "Work on scientific and technological approach is being done for irrigation. Working on the mantra of 'per drop more crop', micro irrigation is being focused upon."

Equity indices flat, auto and financial majors gain marginally

New Delhi, Jan 28 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices were flat during early hours on Tuesday as investors globally grappled to assess the economic impact of China's new coronavirus. At 10:15 am, the BSE S-P Sensex was up by 21 points to 41,174 while the Nifty 50 edged lower by 3 points at 12,116. Sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were mixed with Nifty IT, FMCG and metal in the red. Among stocks, HDFC gained by 2.8 per cent to Rs 2,463 per share after reporting a four-fold jump in its Q3 net profit at Rs 8.372 crore due to the one-time gain from the merger of Bandhan Bank with Gruh Finance. The other prominent gainers were Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Hero MotoCorp, Mahindra and Mahindra and UPL. However, Power Grid Corporation, Nestle India, Vedanta, JSW Steel and Coal India were in the negative terrain.

The textile industry is going through crisis since past 4 years. The textile industry demands to come out with technology mission on cotton. Secretary General of The Southern India Mills' Association (SIMA), K Selvaraju said, "MSP is not a sustainable solution, neither for the industry, nor for the farmers. We have the potential to increase our productivity to atleast 1000 kilos per hectare. We have requested the government to allocate adequate fund and adapt global practices." New Delhi, Jan 28 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in Delhi, BJP leader Parvesh Verma on Tuesday warned Delhi people over the ongoing anti-CAA protests at Shaheen Bagh and said that the protest is like 'fire,' if you don't wake up then they will enter in your houses and rape your sisters and daughters and will kill them. The work had started on 8th Nov, 2019 and is expected to be completed within the next 2 years. The foundation stone for the Pamban Rail Bridge was laid by PM Narendra Modi. The new 2.05 km long Pamban bridge, which will be connecting Mandapam on the mainland and Rameswaram at the Pamban island, will have the country's very first vertical launch rail section.

Study reveals survival of premature babies improves by 25% after quality-improvement program

New Delhi, Jan 28 (ANI): According to a recent study in Canada, the rate of survival of preterm babies in Canada has increased by 25% after the introduction of national program - Evidence-based Practice for Improving Quality (EPIQ) in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) across the country. The new research was published in the journal CMAJ (Canadian Medical Association Journal). The EPIQ program was introduced in 2003 by the Canadian Neonatal Network in 25 neonatal units to improve outcomes for premature babies. The study, originating from Sinai Health in Toronto, analyzed the effect of changes in care practices on outcomes for 50,831 infants born prematurely between 2004 and 2017. Researchers found that survival without major adverse health effects increased from 56.6 percent to 70.9 percent (25 percent) for very preterm babies and from 70.8 percent to 74.5 percent (5 percent) for babies born between 23 and 25 weeks' gestation, over the course of the 14-year program. No case of coronovirus in Tamil Nadu, govt well prepared: State Health Minister
