Lakhan displayed his humanitarian side by taking care of paralyzed Muslim boy Asif, after the latter's family left him. Asif met with an accident recently which caused him severe backbone injury resulting in paralysis. Lakhan helped Asif and brought him to Sikh Foundation named 'Serve Humanity, Serve God Organization', for treatment.
Shirdi (Maharashtra), Jan 19 (ANI): Devotees visited Shirdi Sai Baba temple despite 'bandh' called in Shirdi town, against CM Uddhav Thackeray's reportedly claimed Pathri in Parbhani as Sai Baba's birthplace. Earlier it was announced that Shirdi would remain closed for indefinite period in wake of CM Thackeray's remarks.
Belgaum (Karnataka), Jan 19 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, on Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute in Belgaum, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that people in the region are fighting since 70 years, to be included in Maharashtra. "Marathi people in Belgaum (Karnataka) and adjacent areas have been fighting since 70 years, to be included in Maharashtra. Matter is before Supreme Court but it has been sub-judice since 14 years. We will accept whatever the Supreme Court decides. Lakhs of Marathi people live here, they will follow their language and culture," said Sanjay Raut.

New Delhi, Jan 19 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, on Kapil Sibal's statement in CAA "Constitutionally, it will be difficult for a state government to not to follow law passed by Parliament," Congress leader Salman Khurshid said that without intervention of Supreme Court CAA will remain in statute book and we have to follow. "If Supreme Court doesn't interfere it will remain on statute book. If something's on statute book, you have to obey law, else there are consequences. It's a matter where state governments have a very serious difference of opinion with centre as far as this law is concerned. So we would wait for final pronouncement made by SC. Ultimately SC will decide and till then everything said/done/not done is provisional and tentative," said Salman Khurshid.

Kozhikode (Kerala), Jan 19 (ANI): Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Saturday said that no state can say that it will not implement the Citizenship Amendment Act, as doing so will be unconstitutional. "All states are unhappy with the CAA, NRC and NPR and this message should be sent to the Union level. But, at another level, NPR is to be implemented by the local registrar," Kapil Sibal said on the sidelines of the Kerala Literature Festival here. He further said that "constitutionally, it will be difficult for any state government to say that 'I will not follow a law passed by Parliament'.

New Delhi, Jan 19 (ANI): A major study published in the European Cardiology Bulletin found that Burnout syndrome that makes people feel overly tired, energy-free, demoralised and irritable can lead to a possibly deadly rhythm of the heart. Atrial fibrillation is the most common form of heart arrhythmia, which increases their risk of heart attack, stroke, and death. Yet, what causes atrial fibrillation is not fully understood. Psychological distress has been suggested as a risk factor for atrial fibrillation, but previous studies showed mixed results. In addition, until now, the specific association between vital exhaustion and atrial fibrillation had not been evaluated. The researchers in this study surveyed more than 11,000 individuals for the presence of vital exhaustion, anger, antidepressant use, and poor social support. Nagpur (Maharashtra), Jan 18 (ANI): In an attempt to improve a tiger's amputated paw, a team of doctors performed a surgery to fit a prosthetic limb on the tiger. Though the attempt was unsuccessful, the doctors claim that it was a novel attempt in such cases. The tiger's left paw was amputated after it got entangled in a steel trap set by poachers in 2012. Dr Sushrut Babhulkar who is an orthopedic surgeon said, "Unfortunately in stage 3, where we wanted to fit him with prosthesis, he decided to refuse it. He didn't accept it. Hopefully in future, we will try to fit him back with the prosthesis which he will not be able to easily remove."
